Raven Symoné found herself at the center of controversy this week after rumors began circulating about her possible departure from The View. For months, her termination has been speculated, but none of the rumors have been confirmed. As expected, there were many mixed opinions about Raven’s future on the show.
Some fans were completely heartbroken about the possibility of Raven Symoné leaving the show, while others were thrilled about the singer/actress’ departure. In fact, there was even a petition created on Change.org where more than 120,000 viewers signed in hopes of having Raven Symoné removed from the daytime talk show. But at the end of the day, the petition is just a complaint and none of the rumors have really mattered because it’s all about what’s true and what’s not. So, are the rumors true?
Well, Raven Symoné’s representative just dropped a massive truth bomb about the allegations and it’s nothing like it seems. According to E! News, Raven’s representative has revealed the rumors are all false. Raven Symoné won’t be leaving The View anytime soon.

But despite her representative refuting the departure rumors, several news outlets still adamantly insist Raven Symoné is being booted off The View. According to Fox News, an insider has sat down with Page Six to share details about what’s really going on behind the scenes. Raven Symoné’s career aspirations were also detailed. “They’ve already been eyeing someone to replace her at the table, and she’s aware. She wants to focus on her acting again,” said an insider.

An ABC spokesperson released a brief statement to E! News to address the rumors. Despite the staggering number of complaints about Raven Symoné being on the show, the network is relatively pleased with her presence. It has also been revealed that the ratings have actually been up since Raven Symoné joined the panel. “We love Raven,” a spokesperson for ABC told E! News at the time. “Ratings are up. We are very happy with the team we have. Raven is a great addition to the panel. She is confident, genuine and opinionated, all qualities that make her a great addition to the panel.”

The latest reports follow a string of controversial incidents involving Raven Symoné’s seemingly offensive opinions where politics and race relations were concerned. One of the most notable incidents centered around Raven Symoné being labeled a racist. For those who missed it, Raven Symoné insisted that she wouldn’t hire certain people if their names seemed a little too urban or ethnic. In a nutshell, Raven-Symoné admitted she’d discriminate against someone with a seemingly ghetto name, according to Hollywood Life.
“I’m not about to hire you if your name is Watermelondrea,” Raven Symoné said. “It’s just not going to happen. I’m not going to hire you.” Her co-hosts appeared quite stunned and quickly made efforts to steer the conversation in a different direction, but unfortunately, the damage had already been done. Almost immediately after the episode aired, social media users took to Twitter with a flood of comments about Raven Symoné statements. Many Twitter users even compared her to Stacy Dash and Ben Carson, two public figures who have been caught in the middle of numerous racially charged debates.
