Nickelback Is More Popular Than Donald Trump, According To Poll
Apparently, people would rather listen to Nickelback and have head lice than have Donald Trump for president.
A new poll shows that Trump is less popular than Nickelback, a group that is constantly ridiculed and is often referred to as the most hated band ever. In fact, if you have ever admitted to being a fan of Nickelback, you have probably taken a good deal of grief for your opinions. These days, if you say that you are a supporter of Donald Trump, you may feel the heat even more.

Now, however, if you like Nickelback but you dislike Donald Trump, people might be a bit more understanding. According to the Wrap, people who took the Public Policy Poll chose root canals, hipsters, jury duty, used-car salesmen, the DMV, head lice, and Nickelback over the Republican frontrunner, proving that Trump isn’t super popular amongst people who would participate in such a poll to begin with.
“To be fair, Mr. Trump only loses by single digits to some of these. I mean, he’s running pretty close to Nickelback. Overall, this is a list of things you do not really want to be losing to. It’s narrow, but a win is a win. Donald Trump is held in higher esteem than hemorrhoids by a margin of six points and he’s held in higher esteem than cockroaches by a margin of four points,” explained MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, who reported on these new poll’s last night.
Nickelback is compromised of four members: Chad Kroeger, Ryan Peake, Mike Kroeger, and Daniel Adair. The band formed in 1995 and has had several hit singles. So why all the hate (and why does it really matter if people like them more than Donald Trump)?
According to Us Weekly, a Finnish student named Salli Anttonen spent 14 years doing research about the Nickelback hatred. This is what she has concluded after putting all of her research together.
“Nickelback is too much of everything to be enough of something. They follow genre expectations too well, which is seen as empty imitation, but also not well enough, which is read as commercial tactics and as a lack of a stable and sincere identity.”
Leaving Nickelback out of the equation, the Public Policy Poll had some results about Democrats too. While Hillary Clinton didn’t get to go head-to-head with a roach (or a hated music group), she isn’t really well-liked by people who participated in said polling. Her opponent, Bernie Sanders, was more favorable than she was, but people indicated that they would rather have her as the nominee, this according to New York Magazine.
“The PPP poll notes that both Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders are seen as ‘unfavorable’; Sanders has a three-point setback while Clinton’s favorability is down 19 points. Interestingly, however, Democrats polled said they would be more comfortable with Clinton as a potential nominee than with Sanders.”
