Despite their friendly history together, Sonja Morgan’s relationship with Ramona Singer has fallen apart during this season of the Real Housewives of New York . While the two women recently fought over Morgan’s exclusion from Bethenny Frankel’s party, Morgan officially revealed what went down behind-the-scenes.
In an interview with Radar Online , Morgan explained how she was disappointed by Singer’s comments. As fans will recall, the recent episode of the Real Housewives of New York featured Singer admitting that she has been putting distance between herself and Morgan.
“I should be used to this by now. I don’t know why I am hurt by Ramona’s comments because it’s always her calling the kettle black. She loves to stir the pot. But at everyone else’s expense.”
Of course, Morgan’s beef with Singer hit a high point when Frankel’s party was taken into account. Although Singer told Morgan that she wasn’t invited to the party, Morgan refused to believe that Frankel would make moves behind her back.
“I knew Ramona was lying on the spot,” Morgan stated. “Bethenny would never bird dog a message to me through Ramona. If she had something to say, she would say it to me directly.”
From here, Morgan discussed how she has stuck by Singer’s side in the past, despite her friend’s flaws. However, now that Singer has once again turned her back on Morgan, the future of their friendship is under serious question.
“I’ve been a loyal, apologetic friend standing up for Ramona’s antics for decades,” Morgan shared. “If anything, Ramona should be very proud of me as I have succeeded through my past adversity… She should be happy for me, not picking on me.”
Meanwhile, Reality Tea is reporting that many fans missed Sonja Morgan’s presence at Frankel’s party. Although Frankel did (supposedly) invite Morgan to the event, she revealed that family matters kept her away from the party. Despite her absence, Morgan still watched the episode and stated that it would have been better if she was involved.
“But I gotta say a little bit of Sonja could have spiced this party up. At least I could have made some people laugh. It was like Braveheart . Or Gladiator . Or Game of Thrones !” she stated.
At the same time, Morgan also explained how she would have liked to spend more time with Frankel. Although Frankel and Morgan haven’t always seen eye to eye on things, Morgan recently told People that her co-star’s antics are part of the reason why the show is so successful.
“She takes it too far with everything. I think that’s why we enjoy watching her,” Morgan said. “We’re just like, ‘Whoa, foot in mouth and out the back of your head!”
Although Morgan and Singer are now at odds, she might find a new friend and ally in Jules Wainstein . In fact, Morgan went on to tell the outlet that she shares a lot of similarities with Wainstein, including a youthful playfulness.
In fact, Morgan also explained how she has become a mentor to Wainstein. Despite Frankel’s influence on Wainstein, Morgan admitted that she too wants to teach Wainstein the ins and outs of the reality world.
“I’m very protective of her,” Morgan related. “And in an ironic way, even though Bethenny seems so strong, I feel like I need to take her under my wing too, because you know, she is sensitive.”
At this point, it isn’t clear if Morgan will forgive Singer for her actions this season. Considering everything the two have been through over the years, there is a good chance that they will forgive each other by season’s end.
