Dorinda Medley’s Boyfriend Once Sued A Ski Resort — And Lost!

The Real Housewives of New York star Dorinda Medley is doing everything she can to defend her boyfriend, John Mahdessian. During the first couple of episodes of The Real Housewives of New York this season, John sadly didn’t come across as a nice person. He attacked Bethenny Frankel, accusing her of stealing a business idea and told her that she was jealous of his relationship because she couldn’t hold a man. Ever since he attacked Bethenny, John’s name has been in the media and some of the stories are from before he met Medley.

According to a new Wetpaint Entertainment report, The Real Housewives of New York star Dorinda Medley is possibly learning about a lawsuit that has just come to the surface. This lawsuit isn’t about John being sued because of his business or him discriminating against his female employees. Instead, it’s about him suing a ski resort.

Dorinda Medley’s boyfriend sued The Stratton Corporation’s ski resort back in 1997 after sustaining injuries on the property during a ski trip. Apparently, he skied right into an obstacle and broke his back. The court documents reveal the details about what happened.

“Mr. Mahdessian was skiing down the Suntanner Trail toward the mountain lodge when he suddenly and without warning encountered an unmarked, manmade, hazard. He collided with this unmarked, manmade hazard and fell,” the documents reveal.

Dorinda Medley’s boyfriend claims he was skiing in control and had no warning about this manmade hazard. He claims he had no choice but to ski right into it, hence breaking his back. Because of his injuries, he filed a lawsuit.

Sadly for him, the jury ultimately favored The Stratton Corporation. He was required to pay the ski resort $2,708.11 for trial costs, including court reporting, expert witnesses, and videographer fees. It sounds like it was an expensive loss for him.

These days, John is standing by his relationship with Dorinda Medley. He clearly disappointed Dorinda, but she’s trying to work things out with him and her Real Housewives of New York co-stars. Medley has revealed that he’s not perfect and that he was wrong in calling out Bethenny during her bra party.

“I know how John gets when he’s angry, and though he doesn’t scare me, I know he can scare pretty much anyone. At that point, my only goal was to get out of there, go to dinner and call it a night; but the nightmare continued, and this time, it hit really, really close to home on more than a couple of fronts,” Dorinda Medley revealed to Bravo about her relationship, sharing that he does scare her sometimes.

“For the record, John’s comments were wrong, wrong, wrong. He has no right to comment or speculate or judge on her business, her love life, her life, period. That said, Bethenny also has no right whatsoever to insinuate, speculate, accuse or prosecute John for anything — especially in front of friends and strangers…let alone a camera or two. (Or four.) Look, I get it: Bethenny doesn’t like John. She never has and probably never will. I can live with that. John can live with that. Bethenny has to live with that, too,” Dorinda Medley explains.

After the episode aired, Medley went on a trip with her boyfriend and it is clear that these two are still together. Medley didn’t take her co-stars’ advice about finding a new man and some viewers are disappointed that she’s sticking with him even though he went after her co-stars and friends.
