Kristen Stewart Emerges For First Time Since Cheating Scandal
She had to leave the house sometime. Kristen Stewart was spotted for the first time since publicly confessing to her affair with Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders. She looked like … well … someone who hasn’t showered in days, living on a diet of ice cream and cigarettes.
KStew has been dropping media appearances for upcoming projects like dead flies since news of the scandal broke, leaving media outlets in the dark, most wondering when we’d finally get a look at the embarrassed recluse in public. One lucky shutterbug managed to snap a picture of her today in LA for the first time since the scandal last month, reports E!Online. Stewart looked a bit rough as she tried to pass off in incognito-fashion, wearing a baseball cap backwards, sunglasses, and a white crop top.
Since news of the scandal, most of the stars involved have been lying low. Rupert Sanders has arguably been the most visible of the four involved, spotted out and about with his wedding ring on a few weeks ago. His jilted wife, Liberty Ross, has been seen a few times in public, notably without her wedding ring. Reports have her hiring a divorce lawyer and moving back to the UK, and she sort-of broke silence yesterday by posting a picture of a flying eagle to her Vogue UK blog, seemingly indicating that she considers herself a single woman.
Kristen Stewart has spent the weeks since her public confession in complete seclusion and has dropped out of promotional duties for On the Road, leaving co-star Tom Sturridge to carry the film’s promotion with the rest of the cast, leading up to and including the film’s London premiere last week. Stewart is reportedly planning on showing up at the Toronto International Film Festival next month when the film screens at the annual event.
Robert Pattinson has been keeping busy since news of the split. Following a week of skulking and depression, he boldly resumed promotional duties for Cosmopolis last week, appearing for multiple media interviews and film events. As we’ve covered before, Pattinson showed genuine class and composure in his interviews despite the pain he must be feeling following his acrimonious split from Stewart. Unwilling to let his personal life affect his work, Pattinson agreed to his slew of media appearances on the condition that his relationship with Stewart would not be brought up. Of course, nearly every interviewer he sat down with ignored this caveat and asked him anyway, but Pattinson managed to keep the focus of the interviews on his film.
Pattinson and Stewart also have Breaking Dawn Part II coming up, but newest reports are saying that the two are skipping upcoming Twilight conventions leading up to the film’s release. They are joined by Taylor Lautner in this effort, presumably out of support for his co-stars or possibly Twi-hard disillusionment.
