Rosie O’Donnell Suffers Heart Attack And Lives To Blog About It
Scary news for you Rosie O’Donnell fans out there. The comedian, 50, suffered a heart attack last week, but she’s telling her fans not to fret because she’s still alive and has enough strength to take to the Internet to blog about it.
According to her rep Cindi Beger, the O’Donnell who lost her mother at a young age to cancer, told PEOPLE that “She is now home and resting comfortably. She is very, very lucky.”
Blogging in her usual prose-y poem verse, O’Donnell described the heart attack ordeal that happened last week, as: “They call this type of heart attack/the Widow Maker/i am lucky to be here.” Although vague about how it happened, Rosie wrote that she was saved by the television, writing, “Thank god/saved by a TV commercial/literally,” adding that it was a miracle she’s still here.
According to O’Donnell her doctors found that her coronary artery was blocked by 99 percent. Sounds like a miracle, indeed! Apparently O’Donnell was saved by googling symptoms via the Internet and popped a Bayer aspirin which she had seen recommended to her by ads on the TV.
This isn’t the only medical health scare that O’Donnell has received. Recently, Rosie announced that the wedding to her fiance Michelle Rounds would be postponed due to Rounds’ being diagnosed with a very rare illness, called desmoid tumors. At the time, O’Donnell blogged about the whole ordeal, “odd and curious beasts . . . a non cancer that acts cancerous.”
Rosie O’Donnell is said to be at home and recovering.
