‘Call of Duty: Black Ops 3’ Eclipse DLC Release Date For Xbox One & PC Set For May 19

A new Call of Duty DLC is set for Xbox One and PC release several days from now. Eclipse, the second DLC expansion for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is arriving for Windows PC and the latest Microsoft console on May 19, Gotta Be Mobile reported.

The PS4 version of the second Call of Duty DLC was released on April 19, as part of the timed exclusivity deal between Sony and Activision wherein all the expansion packs for Black Ops 3 and the 2016 COD game will be available on the PlayStation 4 console first. Eclipse follows the Awakening DLC, Call of Duty’s very first map pack released in February of this year, offering new Zombies and multiplayer content.

The second Call of Duty DLC Eclipse, according to Gamespot, brings in four additional multiplayer maps, namely Verge, Spire, Rift, and Knockout. Verge is the remake version of Banzai, a fan-favorite map from Call of Duty: World At War. With the Spire multiplayer map, the combat takes place in a “futuristic, sub-orbital airport terminal set high in the clouds,” the official website of the game described. It features “multiple levels and open areas” where intense and mid-range battles happen.

Furthermore, Rift is a “harsh futuristic military complex” located above an active caldera. In this map, players need to use the “unique core movement opportunities to outsmart and outplay enemies” while navigating through the suspended rail system. Knockout, lastly, is set in a “traditional Shaolin Temple with a retro twist,” where gamers can anticipate a bloody Kung Fu match.

Moreover, according to the official Call of Duty website, fans excited for the upcoming DLC pack should also experience a new chapter in the Zombies mode of the game. Called Zetsubou No Shima, this latest chapter will continue the Origins storyline. An overview for this Call of Duty DLC described the Zetsubou No Shima chapter.

“In the latest chapter of the zombies experience, the origins characters find themselves stranded on a remote pacific island continuing their mission to stop the zombie apocalypse. There they will face the effects of element 115 on human, plant and animal biology that has created horrors beyond belief. Explore diverse environments from lush, tropical forest to the stark, overgrown laboratory facility using zip lines or the sewer systems to evade the zombie horde.”

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Eclipse DLC will be available for $15 if gamers decide to have it as a standalone purchase. On the other hand, a Black Ops 3 DLC season pass is also available for $50, which gives COD players instant access to all the expansion packs of the game. Two more Call of Duty DLCs are set for release, though details about them have not been provided yet.

Meanwhile, the Double Cryptokey Weekend is currently live for PS4, Xbox One and PC users. It will end on May 9, 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET. PlayStation Lifestyle, citing the official COD website, noted that the Cryptokeys acquired in multiplayer matches can be used to trade for supply drops in the black market.

As for other Call of Duty news, the next offering in the hit shooter series is expected to arrive later this year for PS4, Xbox One and PC. According to CNET, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will hit the shelves globally on November 4. A Legacy Edition will also be released.
