Watch Manchester City Vs. Arsenal Stream Live: City Battle To Stay In Top 4, Arsenal To Solidify Champions League Spot
Manchester City host Arsenal in a match that at one time looked to have major title race implications. While the game that will stream live Sunday remains an important one, the stakes are no longer what they appeared to be when the Barclays Premier League fixture list was drawn up.
In one of the most amazing stories in the history of English football — or any sport anywhere — 5000-1 shot Leicester City clinched the Premier League title when second-place Tottenham Hotspur ended their heated Monday night match against Chelsea in a 2-2 draw.
Nonetheless, the stakes are high, especially for fourth-place Manchester City, who have crosstown rivals Manchester United breathing down their collective neck, just one point behind in fifth. A loss to Arsenal on Sunday could put City at risk of dropping out of UEFA Champions League qualification altogether.

After Manchester City rather meekly bowed out of the Champions League semifinal during the week, losing 1-0 to Real Madrid and missing a chance to play for the most coveted trophy in Europe and automatic qualification for next season’s competition, City now face the possibility of welcoming new manager Pep Guardiola with nothing but a Europa League place to greet him.
As for Arsenal, dropping the three points to Manchester City would see the Gunners slip to fourth on goal difference with just one game remaining, meaning they may be faced with the embarrassing inconvenience of qualifying to get into the Champions League group stage.
For that matter, with Manchester United holding a game in hand, an Arsenal loss on Sunday would put Manager Arsene Wenger’s side in some jeopardy of failing to qualify for the UEFA Champions League for the first time since 1997.

Wenger on Saturday made clear that the game against Manchester City is a huge one.
“The future of Arsenal Football Club depends on this game. It is that big, yes. The responsibility of being professional is to prepare the future. That is our target now, to secure a position in the Champions League next year. We still have two games, and if we win those two games we will be all right.”
Outgoing Manchester City Manager Manuel Pellegrini, however, also has high expectations for the Arsenal match.
“I always visualize the positive things. To try to win the game against Arsenal that allows us to be in the third position,” he said on Saturday. “To play well, that is also very important. We didn’t play well against Real Madrid and I don’t like to play in that way.”
