Katy Perry To Terminally Ill Fan: ‘Everybody Loves You’
Katy Perry has been on the move lately, and when she’s not working, Katy is spending time with the love of her life, Orlando Bloom, but that doesn’t mean Perry misses out when her fans need her. Katy recently came across a terminally ill fan and took the time to record a special video message for that fan, sending messages of love and positivity to a fan truly in need of inspiration.
Katy Perry Reaches Out To A Terminally Ill Fan
Katy Perry’s fans came together in support of a very special fan of Perry’s, Sophie Birtles, who suffers from Juvenile Sandhoff Disease. It wasn’t long before Birtles’ name went viral, thanks to the #youreafireworksophie hashtag, which Katy’s fans had attached to their tweets in the hopes that Perry would take notice. The plan worked and Katy did pay attention to the tweets, but the response she gave was far beyond what anyone might have expected. Ms. Perry took the time to record a video message for Sophie, sharing it with Birtles and the Twitter followers who had supported her.

“Sophie, I heard your story and I just wanted to tell you that you are a firework and you are trendy and I do love you,” Katy Perry said as she fought back tears. “Everybody loves you. And we’re all thinking about you all over the world right now. And sending you so much love, I hope you can feel it with this message.”
Katy Perry Fights Body Shaming And Embraces Being A “Curvy” Woman
Like many celebrities, Katy Perry is rebelling against body shamers, letting the world know that she’s comfortable and happy with her body just the way it is. Katy says current generations of women are attempting to “rewire” the negative thinking of past eras and to rid society of the bad messages it has been sending to growing girls.
“You can’t unsee all that crazy s*** and not try to do something to change it,” Perry says. “It’s about what you want to call yourself. We don’t see ourselves in the same way. I know for me, I’m curvy, I’m not sample size, but I represent a lot of people out there.”
Taking a short break from music, Katy is concentrating on contributing to the beauty of all women with a new lipstick line, which will feature 13 shades. Black is to be included as one option for the collection and colored eyeliner will accompany the lipstick line. Ms. Perry says make-up and lipstick in particular is something that has always interested her, even as a young girl.
“I love experimenting and playing, and I can change my look. My face holds makeup very well. I started out at 13. My first identity with makeup and clothes was trying to emulate pin-up girls because I thought they were so cool and fascinating,” says Katy. “My budget was going to vintage stores or thrift stores. I would try to be those 1940s classic girls.”
For Perry, the vibrant make-up she will offer will be more than just adding beauty to a woman’s face, but will affect her inner beauty as well. Ms. Perry says liking one’s reflection in the mirror does as much for a woman’s emotional well-being and spiritual health as it does for her physical attractiveness. She adds that change is vital to a woman’s happiness and to her in particular.
“We love to play and have fun and highlight and change. I’m a chameleon when it comes to looks. I’m all over the map,” says Katy Perry.
Ms. Perry shows her lighter side, as she compares her morning look to a potato. She says, like the toy, she pops in her eyes, lips, hair, until she “looks like a bomb-a** potato!”
