Fine Brothers Entertainment Have BABYMETAL React To ‘YouTubers React To BABYMETAL’
Over the past two years, BABYMETAL, the hybrid heavy metal and J-pop idol music girl group, has exponentially increased in popularity. Performing songs in a genre they can clearly call their own, Su-metal, Yuimetal, Moametal, along with their Kami Band, have created a huge hardcore following who are highly devoted. To prove this fact, every concert BABYMETAL will perform on the United States stretch of their current world tour is either sold out or limited in remaining tickets.
BABYMETAL is taking the world by storm and to some extent, they have the utilized use of social media to thank for their international appeal, especially on YouTube. Keeping to that topic, many YouTube channels are starting to recognize BABYMETAL for who they are, and what they bring to music. Fine Brothers Entertainment had a video of popular YouTubers reacting to BABYMETAL music videos. Now it is BABYMETAL’s turn to react to YouTubers reacting to them.
Before moving on to the special video made by Fine Brothers Entertainment in which BABYMETAL reacted to their video “YouTubers React to BABYMETAL,” it is best to detail the original video mentioned.
Uploaded more than two years ago on April 3, 2014, famous YouTube stars at the time, including Dave Days, Blair Fowler, Lia Marie Johnson, Markiplier, Ian Hecox and Anthony Padilla, Trisha Hershberger and Steve Zaragoza, Mitch and Scott of Pentatonix, Adande, Tyler Oakley, and Chris Dinh and Phil Wang watched two of BABYMETAL’s music videos and reacted to them.
As seen in the video, each YouTuber reacted differently to being exposed to BABYMETAL. Some really liked it while others thought it was really weird. Either way, BABYMETAL made a very strong impact on them. This video was also important for the heavy metal and J-pop idol music group because it was made around the time they were starting to get internationally known after signing on with a big music label.
Almost two years later, BABYMETAL would react to that old video. The special done by Fine Brothers Entertainment may have been part of promotions for the BABYMETAL World Tour 2016: Legend — Metal Resistance, but it was therapeutic, probably enlightening, and satisfying for BABYMETAL. For starters, it is well-known that Su-metal, Yuimetal, and Moametal were not fans of heavy metal until they formed the group. Because of this, any opinion about their music is very important to them because it helps them improve. This is also a testament to their professionalism knowing their genre, though experimentally successful, can always improve.
Currently, BABYMETAL is on their third world tour as mentioned earlier. They already performed in Boston, Massachusetts, and for one show in Concord, North Carolina, (the other will be on May 8). They still have 10 more shows total which includes Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on May 7; Silver Springs, Minnesota, on May 10; Detroit, Michigan, on May 11; Chicago, Illinois, on May 13; and Somerset, Wisconsin, on May 14, Seattle, Washington, on July 12; San Francisco, California, on July 14; Los Angeles, California, on July 15; and Bridgeview, Illinois, on July 17.
As for their latest album, in which they are touring to support, titled Metal Resistance, it is blazing up the charts, setting international records not just for the J-pop music industry, but for the Japanese music industry in general. It ranked number two on both Oricon and Billboard Japan. Number seven in Australia, number 36 in Germany, number 71 in the Netherlands, number 15 in the United Kingdom, number two on the U.S. rock chart, number 39 on the U.S. chart, number two on the U.S. hard rock chart, and number one on the U.S. World chart.
