‘Below Deck’ Kate Chastain Responds To Ben Robinson’s Comment On Her Girlfriend
After the premiere episode of Below Deck Mediterranean premiered on Tuesday night, one of its stars, Ben Robinson, appeared on Andy Cohen’s talk show Watch What Happens Live. During his appearance, Ben, who crossed over to the newest series from Below Deck, talked about what really went down with Kate Chastain and what he thinks of her new girlfriend.

A viewer asked Ben if he and Kate were ever more than friends and what he now thinks of her being in a relationship with a woman. Ben admitted that he and Kate had a sexual relationship.
“We did, um, we were friends and sometimes it became beneficial. On the weekend it got out of hand okay? I’m not gonna lie. We were never in a relationship.”
As for Kate’s new relationship with Rocio “Ro” Hernandez, Ben said that he’s happy for her.
“Lady pond? I’m happy for her. Big weight off my shoulders. And, um, I have met Ro. She’s a lovely girl. She’s actually a pro athlete, soccer player. Wonderful person, so I’m very happy.”
Kate loved what Ben said.

Both Kate and Ben were on seasons 2 and 3 of Below Deck, which follows the lives of crew members working on a Caribbean charter yacht. Ben worked as the chef and Kate was the chief stewardess. On Season 2, Kate and Ben formed a connection and it seemed as if their relationship had crossed the line from professional to romantic. Yet on Season 3, after Ben arrived mid-season to replace the original chef, Leon Walker, Kate and Ben butted heads. Co-star Amy Johnson chalked it up to sexual tension. Both Ben and Kate expressed the sentiment that while they did enjoy some sexual moments with one another, a romantic relationship was not possible because they clash too much.

Ben Robinson is the only one from Below Deck to now appear on the spin-off Below Deck Mediterranean. After the spin-off ends, will viewers see Ben back on Below Deck with Kate Chastain? A few days prior to the spin-off’s premiere, Captain Lee Rosbach from Below Deck confirmed that viewers will once again see him at the helm when the show returns in the fall. Besides Captain Lee, the Season 4 announcement did not reveal any other returning cast members. In addition to Kate and Ben, season 3’s major stars were Amy Johnson, Eddie Lucas, Raquel “Rocky” Dakota, Connie Arias, and Emile Kotze.
As the Inquisitr reported after the Below Deck season 3 finale episode aired, Ben said that he would like to work for Captain Lee again.
On Thursday morning, Captain Lee revealed that he can’t yet reveal whether any of last season’s cast will return for the new one.
Wish I could Jenn, it was tough enough just to get them to say I was coming back. JK, but I really can't say. https://t.co/3xxyZ6Suqn

Yet Captain Lee did hint that viewers may see some new faces on the new season of Below Deck. He told a person who wanted to be on the new season that Bravo does an open casting call a few months prior to filming.
Hey Ralph, Bravo does an open casting call for the crew a few months before the new season films. Web site best bet. https://t.co/DwEdm19ajl
