Mireille Enos Confirms Role As Brad Pitt’s Onscreen Wife In ‘World War Z 2’
While everyone waits impatiently for Brad Pitt’s upcoming World War Z 2, news is starting to creep in. One piece of good news is that actress Mireille Enos will be reprising her role as Karin Lane, wife to Brad Pitt’s Gerry Lane in the follow up to World War Z.
As reported by the Inquisitr a couple years ago, Brad Pitt’s World War Z became his highest-grossing film at that stage. Anticipation is strong that the sequel will be just as good and just as popular as the first.
It was earlier this year that director Juan Antonio Bayona (The Orphanage) had to drop out of the project due to a scheduling conflict, as he has been busy working on the fantasy drama A Monster Calls, starring Liam Neeson, Sigourney Weaver, and Felicity Jones. Not only that, but Bayona confirms he has also signed up to direct Jurassic World 2, meaning the man is extremely busy.

While there’s no news yet as to Bayona’s replacement, one piece of good news is that Enos will, indeed, be reprising her role as Brad Pitt’s onscreen wife in the World War Z sequel. She plays the wife of Pitt’s character, Gerry Lane, who is a former U.N. investigator attempting to wipe out a zombie pandemic.
Enos told Digital Spy, “Yes, I am going to be in it.
“There’s been some shifting [with directors] and so the schedule’s a bit up in the air, but it’s definitely happening, and I get to be in it.”
Speaking of Brad Pitt, Enos said she hasn’t yet read a script, so she “literally can’t tease anything. I think [there] was a director in place and that’s now shifted, so it’s a bit up in the air.”
So as the tabloids try their best to break up Pitt’s actual marriage to Angelina Jolie Pitt, it seems there’s nothing wrong with his onscreen marriage in the upcoming zombie blockbuster.
World War Z 2 is set to be released at some date in 2017 yet to be announced.

As reported by the Inquisitr, Enos will also be on TV soon as the lead in the ABC crime drama The Catch, playing the role of a powerful yet glamorous private investigator, Alice Vaughan. She will be appearing alongside Peter Krause, John Simm, and Lesley Nicol (Downton Abbey) in the series, created by Jennifer Schuur and produced by Shonda Rhimes of Grey’s Anatomy fame.
In the meantime, and as reported by the Inquisitr, Pitt has been involved in another world war movie, but this time with no zombies involved. He was recently seen to be visibly emotional filming moving scenes from his upcoming World War II movie Allied, a film based on a true story.
Braving the inclement U.K. weather, Pitt was seen to be fully into his role as a French-Canadian spy who gets involved with a French agent, Marianne Beausejour (played by Marion Cotillard).
In the movie, Pitt’s character, Max Vatan, falls in love with the French agent while on a mission to kill a German ambassador in Casablanca. Reportedly in the story, the couple does eventually marry and have a family, but Brad’s character discovers his wife may possibly be a Nazi spy, leading him to start an investigation on his own wife.Incidentally, the fact that Pitt is playing opposite Marion Cotillard started some more rumors in the tabloids that he was having an affair with the actress. Creating bad news is good news, right? However, according to a report by the International Business Times, those rumors have already been debunked by Gossip Cop. That film is said to be opening in theaters on November 23 of this year.
