‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Spoilers: Arizona Faces A Heartbreaking Choice In Her Battle With Callie Over Sofia And Stephanie Faces Kyle Post-Split
Grey’s Anatomy spoilers for Thursday’s episode tease that there are heartbreaking moments on the way. Arizona and Callie are battling for custody of Sofia, and their friends and colleagues have been pushed to take sides. The case heads to the courtroom during this May 5 show and viewers are anxious to know what will come next.
As TV Guide details, Thursday’s show Season 12, Episode 22 show is titled “Mama Tried.” Arizona made a bold move when Callie told her that she was planning to take Sofia and move to New York with Penny. This custody battle is getting ugly and emotional. Grey’s Anatomy spoilers tease that the two women will continue to clash and it doesn’t look like there will be any easy resolution found soon.

In fact, actress Sara Ramirez has had viewers buzzing with a recent tweet she posted. She mentioned that she had wrapped up her work as Callie and she thanked fans for the unforgettable roller coaster ride. Will Callie really leave the hospital in Seattle behind to move to New York with Penny? The buzz is that Ramirez’s contract is up after this season and nothing new is in place yet, but fans will have to stay tuned to see where this battle heads.
Grey’s Anatomy spoilers detail that April and Alex will work together on a case involving a pregnant teenager. This becomes a very complicated case, and as People shares, Arizona will need to make a difficult decision that impacts not only this teenager’s pregnancy but Arizona’s custody battle with Callie over Sofia as well.
Previews share that Arizona will be in the midst of testifying in court as her phone keeps ringing. She indicates that she needs to check, as the caller doesn’t stop trying to reach her, and it turns out to be April indicating that the pregnant teen’s case has taken a problematic turn. Grey’s Anatomy spoilers tease that as difficult as it is, Arizona makes the difficult decision to leave the courtroom and go try to save the teen’s baby.
Kevin McKidd, who plays Owen, directed Thursday night’s episode and he teases a few Grey’s Anatomy spoilers via TVLine. He says that this was an intense episode to put together and viewers will feel that intensity. He says it’s both emotional and powerful and that Penny’s testimony may well cause issues for Callie’s side. Arizona and Callie will have moments of trying to come back together again for Sofia’s sake, but to a degree, it seems this spins out of their control. Everybody may have to wait a bit for answers regarding Sofia’s custody, as McKidd notes that there will be some action in the Season 12 finale connected to this storyline.
Thursday’s show also brings a bit of action related to Stephanie as well. Stephanie had embraced a hot-and-heavy romance with Kyle, the musician patient. However, she split with him via a note as he was sleeping after he was readmitted with new tremors and she was shut out of his case. Grey’s Anatomy spoilers from Variety detail that this isn’t exactly the end for them, though.
Stephanie may have split with Kyle, but she will have to face him again as he is still a patient at the hospital and Grey’s Anatomy spoilers detail that Amelia will pull Stephanie back onto the case. Stephanie will surely have to have an emotional talk with Kyle, and as the rest of the season plays out, she will be left in a bit of limbo. Actress Jerrika Hinton has been cast in a new Shonda Rhimes pilot called Toast, and if it is picked up, viewers will surely see Stephanie exit the canvas.
How will Callie and Arizona’s battle over Sofia be resolved? Can Kyle charm his way back into a renewed romance with Stephanie? Viewers are anxious to see what comes next as Season 12 of Grey’s Anatomy continues.
