Melania Trump: MSNBC Host Chris Matthews Caught On Hot Mic Leering At Melania’s ‘Runway Walk’

Melania Trump apparently makes MSNBC anchor Chris Matthews “lean forward.”

Matthews, the fast-talking host of the political chat show Hardball on the liberal TV network, was caught on a hot microphone ogling Melania Trump’s “runway walk” as she accompanied her husband Donald Trump to the podium for his Indiana Primary victory speech Tuesday night.

As you may recall, MSNBC’s former slogan was “lean forward.”

“During MSNBC’s coverage of the Republican primary results in Indiana Tuesday night, after the results were in, Chris Matthews took off his anchor cap for [just] a moment and replaced it with his dirty old man cap,” Slate explained about the incident.

Evidently unaware that his mic was live as colleagues Brian Williams and Rachel Maddow conducted an interview with GOP lawyer Ben Ginsburg (see clip below), the long-time host on the network had this to say about the presumptive Republican presidential nominee’s wife, a former supermodel, which was overheard by America.

“Did you see her walk? Runway walk. My God, is that good. I could watch that runway show.”

Williams quickly tossed the broadcast to a commercial break.

Matthews, 70, is also famous for admitting that Barack Obama’s speeches gave him a thrill up his leg,

A spokesperson for Melania Trump provided this response to Variety following the Chris Matthews remarks.

“Melania Trump is an accomplished businesswoman and entrepreneur in her own right, achieving tremendous success in a variety of industries, including an illustrious modeling career, as well as being a dedicated wife and mother. It is unfortunate to see the continuous inaccuracies and misrepresentations made by the media of Mrs. Trump as anything less than the independently successful woman that she is.”

While the MSNBC PR department has yet to issue a comment, Twitter was less than pleased with what “creepy” Matthews had to say about Melania Trump, possibly the future U.S. First Lady, if Donald Trump is elected president in November.

In the immediate aftermath of Chris Matthews ogling Melania Trump, various media outlets, including the Daily Mail, have recalled various sexist statements that Chris Matthews has made on the air about Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton among others. In addition, during the height of the GOP presidential primary season, he dismissed candidates Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz as “two Cuban guys.” Several years ago, he inexplicably claimed that Hitler never used chemical weapons.

Chris Matthews, a former speechwriter for President Jimmy Carter and chief of staff to House Speaker Tip O’Neill, also got into some hot water recently for his wife allegedly collecting campaign donations from Hardball guests for her run for Congress, the Washington Examiner reported. Kathleen Matthews fell short in the multi-candidate April 26 Democrat primary for the Maryland House seat, however.

“Matthews has been critical of the Manhattan billionaire’s stances on women’s issues, including his remark — which was swiftly retracted — that women who have abortions should be punished,” Politico noted.
