‘Game Of Thrones’ Spoilers: Kit Harington Speaks Out About Shocking Season 6 Reveal
Game of Thrones star Kit Harington is speaking out about that shocking Season 6 twist from episode 2. Warning: Spoilers ahead!
Now that fans have seen Jon Snow’s fate, the actor is free to speak out the big TV fake out.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Kit Harington is finally revealing how he and the Game of Thrones producers created a huge storyline about his character, Jon Snow, being dead, a story that he stuck to for 10 months during interviews.
While viewers know that Jon Snow was, in fact, dead, the fan-favorite character was resurrected by Lady Melisandre in Sunday’s all-new episode titled “Home.” Now, Kit is finally free to speak about his highly talked about Season 6 storyline.
While many Game of Thrones fans were worried that they would not see Kit Harington’s character, Jon Snow, much in Season 6, they can rest assured that Jon will be back in full force. In fact, the actor reveals that he spent more days on set this season than any other before it, adding that his character is in for a huge storyline.
“It’s a massive season for Jon. It’s his biggest season for him so far. I was told that when I was told I was coming back – that the season I was coming back for would be my biggest, and that’s quite a lot to take as well.”
What can Game of Thrones fans look forward to as far as Jon Snow is concerned? Spoilers for Season 6 are few and far between, but many viewers are already speculating that this will finally be the season when Jon’s parentage is explained.
As Game of Thrones enthusiasts know, there are many theories about Jon Snow’s parents. The biggest theory has been named the “R+L=J” theory and claims that Jon’s parents are Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen.
If this theory is true, viewers can expect some seriously amazing flashback scenes, likely seen through the eyes of Bran Stark and the Three-Eyed Raven. The theory states that when Ned Stark’s sister, Lyanna Stark, was taken by Prince Rhaegar Targaryen, she became pregnant with his child.
When Ned found his sister dying, she begged him to take care of the baby and pass him off as his own son so that he would not be killed for having Targaryen blood. While some fans believe that Lyanna was actually in love with Rhaegar and ran away with him to escape marrying Robert Baratheon, many agree that Jon Snow is likely Ned Stark’s nephew and not his illegitimate son.
Game of Thrones viewers have been waiting for the theory to play out for years on the show, and it could even be revealed in the very next episode, as Bran is seemingly having a vision of his father at the Tower of Joy, where the huge scene is speculated to have gone down.
Meanwhile, if Jon Snow is a Targaryen, it would change so many things. Not only would he have a claim to the throne, but he would also be Daenerys Targaryen’s only living family member. However, the theories don’t stop there.
Many Game of Thrones viewers also believe that because the Targaryen sigil is a three-headed dragon, that there are actually three living Targaryen family members, and that Tyrion Lannister could be the oldest living Targaryen.
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Tyrion’s recent dragon interaction may be foreshadowing one of the biggest reveals in the show’s history, and fans are on the edge of their seats waiting to find out what will be revealed as Season 6 rolls on.
What are your thoughts on Kit Harington’s comments on Jon Snow? Do you believe the Game of Thrones theories that Jon and Tyrion are Targaryens?
