Kirk Cameron Says That Wives Should ‘Honor And Respect And Follow Their Husband’s Lead’
Kirk Cameron is making people mad once again with his controversial comments. People has shared that Kirk is upsetting many people with his recently shared views on marriage. This is one of those times that it might be best if he would have kept his opinion to himself. The former star of Growing Pains did an interview with Christian Post where he shared his thoughts on marriage and who is in charge.
Cameron seems to have had a lot to say in this interview. Kirk is an outspoken evangelical Christian, and he has been married to actress Chelsea Noble since 1991. Clearly, their marriage works. They also have six children together. But, here is what Kirk Cameron has said to upset so many people.
“Wives are to honor and respect and follow their husband’s lead, not to tell their husband how he ought to be a better husband. When each person gets their part right, regardless of how their spouse is treating them, there is hope for real change in their marriage.”
A lot of people do not agree with Kirk Cameron’s thoughts on marriage, and the fact that he doesn’t seem to think that a wife and husband are equals in marriage. Social networks went crazy with comments about his opinion. The fact that Kirk Cameron is now on a tour called Love Worth Fighting For has some people wondering what he is teaching. This Bible-based tour is all about strengthening and encouraging your marriage.
One other thing that Kirk Cameron said was that marriage does come with instructions. He explained that he believes those instructions are in God’s word. His sister Candace Cameron-Bure has never been shy about the fact that she thinks that the husband is the leader in the home. She is married to hockey player Valeri Bure. Back in 2014, she shared her thoughts with Huffington Post.
“I love that my man is a leader. I want him to lead and be the head of the family and those decisions, major decisions, do fall on him. It doesn’t mean I don’t voice my opinion. It doesn’t mean I don’t have an opinion. I absolutely do.”

Kirk Cameron is always speaking out about his thoughts on marriage, so this is not the first time he has said something to upset someone. Back in October, Kirk Cameron went to his website and shared a post he titled, Submission Isn’t a Four-Letter Word. This blog post spoke out about how wives should be willing to submit to their husbands because he believes it is God’s will. The post was written by Darlene Schacht, but obviously, Cameron agrees, or he publish it. He simply posted the article, but didn’t add any of his own thoughts on this topic.
EW shared back in March 2012 that Kirk Cameron was in the news for comments he had made. At the time, Kirk spoke out against homosexuality, saying that he feels like it is “unnatural.” He said, “I think that it’s detrimental, and ultimately destructive to so many of the foundations of civilization.” GLADD spoke out against him; also, his co-stars Robin Thicke and Tracey Gold made it clear that they did not agree with what he had to say. One would think he might learn a lesson about sharing his opinions, but Kirk doesn’t seem to mind upsetting people by sharing his thoughts.
