Ted Cruz Responds To ‘Caitlyn Gender’ Over Bathroom Issue
Ted Cruz had plenty to say about Caitlyn Jenner’s stand on the use of public bathrooms by transgender individuals.
Cruz told CNN’s Jake Tapper on State of the Union that allowing transgender people to use the bathroom of their choice, “opens the door for predators.”
Tapper during the interview called the reality TV star, “Caitlyn Gender” but quickly glossed over what some would label a Freudian slip.

Jenner addressed Cruz while she was marching into the Trump tower to use the ladies’ room, in order to make a point.
“By the way, Ted, nobody got molested.”
Cruz responded to the remark by saying, “This is not a matter of right or left, or Democrat or Republican. This is common sense. It doesn’t make sense for grown adult men, strangers, to be alone in a restroom with a little girl.”
“This is the height of political correctness. And frankly, the concern is not of the Caitlyn Jenners of the world, but if the law is such that any man, if he feels like it, can go in a woman’s restroom and you can’t ask him to leave, that opens the door for predators.”
Jenner used a women’s bathroom in the Trump International Hotel and Tower in New York City, following up on a recent comment by Trump in which he said Jenner could use whichever bathroom she wanted at the tower.

Jenner is a Republican, but has said according to a March 17 E! Online report that she did not endorse either Ted Cruz or Donald Trump. She said she hoped that if Cruz was elected, he would appoint her as “Trans Ambassador.”
“Out of all the candidates, I also feel that as far as the LGBT community, he would probably be the worst and need the most help… If that is the case, I would be at his front door. Have they contacted me? No—which I was kind of surprised.”
Jenner said that she, “hadn’t figured Trump out.”

Cruz told Tapper that Trump was operating on the “height of political correctedness” with the transgender-bathroom issue.
“This is the height of political correctness for Donald Trump to say yes, let grown men in the bathroom with little girls.
“I’ve spent a lot of years in law enforcement dealing with child predators that are sick individuals. That doesn’t mean that that is the people who are transgendered. But there are predators in the world, and just saying that you’re a man, you can go in the girls’ restroom if you feel like it, opens the door for criminals.”
Cruz added that Donald Trump was just a male version of Hillary Clinton.
“You know who I feel the worst for? I feel the worst for Donald’s supporters who believe his role. But every day, if he gets closer to the nomination, he starts taking his mask off, and behind the Donald Trump mask is Hillary Clinton.”
When Tapper responded that it was “quite an image,” Cruz replied, “It is a terrifying image.”
A poll from the Wall Street Journal on Sunday shows Trump leading in Indiana by 15 percent. This puts Trump out in front of Cruz, with a lead of 49 percent of potential GOP primary voters in the state, with 34 percent favoring Mr. Cruz and 13 percent for Mr. Kasich.
