Desiree Hartsock Is Pregnant: Get The Scoop On The Latest ‘Bachelorette’ Baby
Desiree Hartsock is the latest Bachelorette star to announce that she is pregnant. A little more than one year after they tied the knot, Hartsock and her husband, Chris Siegfried, have announced that they are expecting their first child. Desiree and Chris told Us Weekly that they found out their baby news on Valentine’s Day when they were celebrating their one-year wedding anniversary in Maui. “I kind of knew, like, ‘You know something, I think I’m pregnant,'” Desiree told Us. “We were in Hawaii, when we went for our one-year anniversary. That’s when we took a test and found out!”
Hartsock revealed that she is 13 weeks pregnant and due this fall. The former ABC reality star added that she is already experiencing plenty of pregnancy cravings, which has her doting husband hopping all over Seattle to pick up treats.
“Each day is something new,” Desiree said. “Like one day I’m like, ‘Babe, I really need Italian.’ And then the next, it’s Mexican and the next it’s dessert for dinner. [Chris] is just so supportive and if I’m craving ice cream, he’s like, ‘OK, let’s go get it!'”
Bachelorette fans aren’t surprised that Desiree is already having her first baby. Last year, Hartsock teased that she and Chris were thinking about starting a family when she posted an Instagram pic of herself feeding a bottle to pal Renee Oteri’s newborn.
Desiree captioned the sweet pic, “Mama in training.”
Now that Desiree Hartsock has dropped the bombshell about her bundle of joy, it sounds like there could be a whole lot of Bachelorette baby play dates in the near future. Desiree’s new baby news comes on the heels of Bachelorette Season 5 star Jillian Harris’s recent announcement that she is pregnant. Harris took to her blog last month to reveal that she is expecting her first child with boyfriend Justin Pasutto later this year.
“I have dreamed for years of being a mama … thought about how I would tell people … how I would feel … what kind of mom I would be … and here we are … Justin and I couldn’t be MORE STOKED to grow our little family!” Harris wrote.
In addition, Bachelorette Season 6 star Ali Fedotwosky is also expecting a baby. Fedotowsky and fiancé Kevin Manno will welcome a baby girl this summer (due date is July 13). Ali told People that her baby was planned ahead of time.
“We made the decision to start a family before getting married,” Ali said. “This was not an ‘oops, what happened’ moment. We pulled the goalie! We’re like, ‘We want this!’ ”
In addition to Desiree, Jillian, and Ali, just two months ago, Bachelorette Season 4 star DeAnna Pappas gave birth to her second child, a baby boy, with husband Stephen Stagliano. Seriously, what is going on with all of these Bachelorette babies?
Desiree Hartsock was the Season 9 Bachelorette and one of the rare, successful franchise alums whose wedding wasn’t broadcast by ABC. Hartsock and Siegfried became engaged on The Bachelorette finale in May 2013 and tied the knot in a private ceremony in early 2015.
In addition to dealing with all of those pregnancy cravings, Desiree Hartsock has a new book coming out titled My Fairytale Wedding. The Seattle-based bridal designer details how to throw a dream wedding on an affordable budget. Hartsock’s book is due out May 17.
