‘Fifty Shades Darker’ Star Dakota Johnson Is ‘So Over’ Simulating Sex With Jamie Dornan

Dakota Johnson knew that her role as Anastasia Steele would come with a lot of sex scenes with co-star Jamie Dornan. However, now that filming for Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed is in full swing, the actress is tired of simulating sex for the camera. How will this impact her on-screen chemistry with Dornan?

Johnson recently sat down with Interview magazine and discussed her time on the set of Fifty Shades Darker as well as the future of her career in the movie business. For starters, Johnson admitted that simulating sex for extended periods of time is difficult.

“Well, we’re not having actual sex,” Johnson revealed. “But I’ve been simulating sex for seven hours straight right now, and I’m over it.”

Johnson’s comments follow reports of chemistry problems between her and Dornan. According to Movie News Guide, new rumors claim that Dornan’s wife, Amelia Warner, is worried about her husband’s steamy sex scenes with Johnson. Fortunately, there are a few reasons why Warner is not jealous of Dornan’s professional relationship with Johnson.

After all, Johnson pointed out how simulating sex for long hours is tiring and mechanical. This collaborates with what other actors have stated in the past and shows that filming sex scenes is more awkward for actors than sensual.

Furthermore, Dornan and his wife recently celebrated the birth of their second child together. If they are having marital issues, then having another baby would not be on their priority list.

Lastly, fans recently spotted Dornan and Warner at a concert in Vancouver, the same location where the two films are being produced. Clearly, Warner is in the area while Dornan works on the upcoming erotic drama, and according to sources, they appeared very happy during the outing.

Despite the reports, it appears as though Dornan and Johnson are keeping things strictly professional. For her part, it sounds as though Johnson wants to be done filming the erotic parts of Fifty Shades Darker and is more than ready to move on.

Speaking of Johnson, Film News is reporting that the actress sometimes struggles with her career and dealing with fame. In fact, Johnson revealed that she still has difficulty defining her career and does not have a clear idea on what she will do next.

“That still feels accurate to me,” Johnson shared. “I still feel like I don’t know what I’m doing. Like, I’m unsure of what my life will be like. I mean, I have such an obsession with making movies that I probably will always do that. But sometimes my life can feel so suffocating, and then it can feel so massive, like I don’t have a handle on it at all, and I don’t know where it’s going or what I’m going to do.”

Johnson’s comments allude to a possible career change in the near future. Although she has received a lot of fame for her role in the Fifty Shades of Grey franchise, Johnson admitted that she is unsure what the future holds.

“I wonder if that’s it. I don’t know,” she shared. “It doesn’t feel like it to me.”

While her future is uncertain, Johnson will once again grace the big screens with Dornan when Fifty Shades Darker hits theaters next year. Until then, Johnson still has a lot of work to do as producers are filming the final two movies in the franchise back-to-back. Hopefully, the sex scene portion of production is over for Johnson, although given the nature of the film, she likely has more scenes to simulate in the coming weeks.

Fifty Shades Darker is scheduled to open in theaters on February 10, 2016.
