Krispy Kreme To Unleash Fairground Inspired Treats

For a lot of people, Krispy Kreme doughnuts are the ultimate breakfast food. Stuff one into your mouth while you’re working and the day suddenly becomes a little sweeter. In an effort to keep you and your wallet coming back for more, the company is unleashing two new flavors to entice those who are a little sad that the summer is slowly drawing to a close once again.

According to Delish, the company is revealing two new doughnuts which have been heavily inspired by the guilty pleasures one usually finds on the fairground. The first creation, dubbed Caramel Apple Cake Doughnut, is a combination of a cake doughnut, apple glaze, and caramel icing. Your waistline will expand just thinking about it.

If caramel apples aren’t your thing, perhaps your taste buds are more in tune with the Cotton Candy Doughnut. The execution is quite simple: Krispy Kreme took their Original Glazed Doughnut and covered it with bright blue cotton candy sugar.

Need something to wash all of these treats down? Foodbeast states the company has a couple of new drinks to accompany their latest creations. Cotton Candy Chiller takes the aforementioned blue sugar and mixes it with raspberry-blueberry slush. The Caramel Latte, meanwhile, comes equipped with caramel sauce and whipped cream.

Founded by Vernon Rudolph in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Krispy Kreme has been providing little slices of heaven to doughnut enthusiasts since 1937. Rudolph acquired a secret recipe for yeast doughnuts in 1933 when he purchased a doughnut shop in Paducah, Kentucky. Before moving the business to Nashville, Tennessee a few years later, Vernon was known to deliver the treats to customers on his bike.

Although Krispy Kreme has enjoyed quite a bit of success here in the United States, the company is very popular in both Japan and Mexico.
