‘The Walking Dead’: Showrunner Hints The ‘Negan Killed Glenn’ Theory May Be Wrong?

The Walking Dead is currently on a break until Season 7. However, all TWD fans have the same question after the finale. Who did Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) kill? Which character met their demise by having their face bashed in by Lucille, Negan’s barbed wire baseball bat? There are a lot of claims that Negan killed Glenn (Steven Yeun). However, the showrunner recently spoke about the new TWD villain and everyone might be wrong.

Negan has been a hot topic for months, even for viewers who have never read a single issue of The Walking Dead comics. When asked how closely the TV show will mirror the comic book when it comes to the villain, showrunner Scott M. Gimple revealed a few details.

“Sometimes we have things from the book that people who read the comics maybe see coming a mile away, and we try to adjust that so that we can give them the same feeling they had when reading the book, which might have been shock or surprise or fear, any of those things,” Gimple told Entertainment Weekly when asked about Negan. “It might be wildly different, but it’s all to get the same sort of feelings that you got when you read them. So will it be different? Absolutely. Will it be the same thing? Absolutely.”

The showrunner divulged additional clues that Negan may kill someone other than Glenn when The Walking Dead returns.

“Sometimes things happen to completely different characters. It wasn’t Lizzie who killed Mika. Carl was the one involved that story when it was Billy and Ben. But I think we still got that same sort of emotion and horror that we got from that moment in the book,” The Walking Dead showrunner explained about why the TV show changes characters and situations from the comic books. “So we want to tell the story of the book but from an emotional standpoint first, and that does often create the changes that we do.”

Gimple’s comments don’t prove that Negan killed Glenn and they also don’t prove that Yeun’s character stays alive. However, it does bring up the subject for even more debate than before. So, who did Negan kill on The Walking Dead Season 6 finale? Based on the character changes that the showrunner mentioned, it seems likely that the TV character most similar to the comic book Glenn could be killed off.

However, the cast, crew and those in charge have tricked viewers before. Gimple’s statements could just be another way to lead fans in another direction.

As previously reported by The Inquisitr, there is mounting evidence that Steven Yeun may exit the zombie series, especially since he is filming a new movie. While multiple projects are not uncommon for actors, the movie is being filmed around the same time as The Walking Dead Season 7.

There are plenty of people mentioning the differences between Negan and Rick Grimes. However, Andrew Lincoln spoke about what the two men have in common.

“There are many similarities between [Rick and Negan], but I do think there is morality still in Rick,” Andrew Lincoln told Variety. “It’s morals and the sanctity of the people who he loves and fights for that are the driving force behind his decision-making. He is a ruthless, uncompromising and tenacious man who will stop at nothing — we’ve seen it — to keep these people alive. But I think he’s met his match.”

Do you still think Negan killed Glenn Rhee on The Walking Dead Season 6 finale? Or does Scott M. Gimple’s comments make you think another TWD character met Lucille?
