Katy Perry And John Mayer: Some Worried, Others Hopeful About New Relationship
There are two opinions floating around the internet today about Katy Perry and her new alleged boyfriend John Mayer. One seems to be that the “Your Body Is A Wonderland” singer is a womanizing deviant who is only going to hurt the pop princess. The other is that Mayer has reformed his ways and that he’s ready to make a commitment to Perry.
Both of those, keep in mind, come at a time when it still isn’t clear if the two are dating. (Perry and Mayer haven’t commented about their relationship but several sources say that they are “definitely dating.”)
If they are, well, there’s a lot to talk about.
Mayer made a name for himself as a womanizer when he was at the peak of his fame.
Mayer has dated Hollywood hotties like Jennifer Aniston, Taylor Swift, and Jennifer Love Hewitt. Now that he’s turned his attention to Perry, some people are worried that the relationship only has one outcome: heartbreak.
“John has a big reputation as a serial womanizer. If people thought her ex, Russell Brand, was bad, John is notoriously a lot worse. Katy’s friends are worried this is just a rebound bit of fun but will end with her getting really hurt.”
But is Mayer just a rebound? Perry reportedly dated musician Robert Ackroyd shortly after her divorce but ended it after she realized that she wasn’t ready for anything serious. Perry has had a little time to heal and may be ready to start an actual relationship with Mayer. According to Radar Online, Mayer is ready to commit himself to Perry.
A source said:
”John has had his eye on Katy for a while and he had to try and convince her that he was right for her. ‘The best way he thought he could do that was by dispelling his past reputation as a lothario to Katy. He knew he had to change his ways if he ever wanted to get serious with somebody and he had a heart to heart with Katy, telling her he was desperate to change his ways. Katy believed him and now their relationship is moving on. She wants to visit his home in Montana and has slowly warmed to the idea that he’s boyfriend material.”
What do you think? Would John Mayer and Katy Perry make a good couple?
