Joe Jonas On Gigi Hadid’s Relationship With Zayn Malik: ‘She Moved On So Quickly’

Joe Jonas hasn’t been shy about voicing his displeasure with ex Gigi Hadid’s newest relationship. If all the photos posted to Instagram are any indication, it’s obvious that Gigi and her new boyfriend, Zayn Malik, are living hot and heavy.

But for Joe? Perhaps the new relationship came a bit too quickly. At least, that’s what Jonas seemed to indicate while talking with the Daily Mail.

“I think it’s interesting that she moved on so quickly, I mean it was definitely very quick.”

Jonas and Hadid dated for five months and even reportedly moved in together before they split back in November of 2015. Just two weeks later, Gigi and former One Direction singer Zayn Malik went public with their relationship. The supermodel and the “Pillowtalk” singer have been nearly inseparable ever since.

It’s not the first time the Joe Jonas-Gigi Hadid split has made headlines in the media. Back in December, the Inquisitr reported that an unnamed source had spoken to E! News about Jonas’ disappointment in Hadid’s ability to move on so quickly. According to the report, the “Cake by the Ocean” singer still had feelings for Gigi at that time.

“He still has feelings for Gigi that won’t just disappear overnight. They did love each other and he still has a love for Gigi. He is not looking to rush into another relationship though just yet. He is focusing on his music and new projects that are in the works. He has some great friends and family around so, like anything, he knows his feelings for Gigi will pass with time.”

Additionally, the December report added, “Joe is doing well. He was a bit upset how fast Gigi went out in public with Zayn, but it is what it is at this point.”

During the same Daily Mail interview, Jonas talked about the fact that he and Zayn are frequently compared to one another. The fact that they have both dated Gigi isn’t the only thing the pop stars have in common. For example, Joe and Zayn have similar styles, and they’ve both dyed their hair similar colors at one point or another.

But musically? The DNCE frontman says that he believes there’s a big difference between himself and Malik.

“It’s comical that I’m compared to him. That dude and I have been compared for years, I think it’s just funny. To be honest I haven’t really listened to his music, but he can sing well.”

The comments sound innocent enough on the surface, and Jonas and Malik used to be on friendly terms — that is, until Zayn and Gigi began dating. Joe has since shown his displeasure by unfollowing both of his former pals on social media and deleting many photos from Instagram. When you consider that Joe’s words were spoken about a former pal, they sound distant.

Jonas and Malik were last seen together in June of 2015, when they sat together with Kanye West in the front row of the Louis Vuitton fashion show in Paris. According to the Daily Mail, Joe posted a photo of the occasion on Instagram and captioned it “#SQUAD” but later deleted the photo after news of Gigi’s new relationship broke.
