‘Bates Motel’ Spoilers: Norman Wants To Go Home, Norma Panics And Tells Him She Married Romero, And Dr. Edwards Fears He May Kill Again
What will happen in the new episode of Bates Motel on Monday? In the episode titled, “There’s No Place Like Home,” Norman will discover that his mother, Norma, married Sheriff Alex Romero for him to have health insurance (which pays his mental hospital bill). Norman will announce that he wants to know the process of checking himself out of the mental facility. His shrink will suggest that Norman stay a little while longer because he’s not quite ready for the outside world. Dr. Edwards tells Norma he fears that Norman is not stable yet, and could end up hurting himself or someone else, possibly someone he loves.
As seen in the preview video, Norman calls home and asks Romero if he can speak to his mother. Alex was taken back by Norman’s phone call and noted that he didn’t seem surprised that he answered the phone. Norma has always had a need to protect her son and doesn’t want him to know that she married Romero until he’s well.
Also on Bates Motel, Norman decides it’s time to go home and wants to know the process to check himself out. Norman is aware that Dr. Edwards doesn’t think he’s ready to go home yet. The Bates Motel rumors suggest that part of Norman’s motive to leave Pineview now is so he doesn’t have to deal with his mental illness.
Dr. Edwards discovered on the last episode of Bates Motel that Norman has another personality named “Mother,” and she was the one responsible for Ms. Watson and Audrey Decody murders. “Mother” told the shrink that she has worked really hard to “protect Norman from all the bad things he’s done.”
According to Design & Trend, Dr. Edwards called Norma and advised her to tell her son it’s for the best if he stays at Pineview for a few more weeks. He reveals his theory that Norma is not safe around her son. Deep down, Norma knows Norman is capable of hurting her, but she refuses to admit it. Norma tells the shrink that she will talk to him, and (strongly) suggest that he stays another week or two so he can get everything he needs to stay healthy.
It isn’t apparent if Norman decides to stick it out at the mental health facility or not because, in the Bates Motel preview, it shows the teenager asking the receptionist what the procedure is to check yourself out of the institution. The receptionist seems shocked that Norman was anywhere near ready to go home; however, she calls his doctor to speak to him about the procedure.
The big question about the next episode of Bates Motel is, will Norman go home, or will Norma be able to convince the teenager to stay put another few weeks? And, is Norma really ready to face what kind of horrible things Norman has done? Or will she continue to make excuses for him?
When Norma goes to visit her son, she tells him he should stay just a little longer. Norman asks her if that’s what she thinks, or maybe she’s talking for her husband. He wanted to make it known that he knows she married Alex. How will Norma handle her son’s anger about her marriage to Alex?

Dr. Edwards will tell Norma on the next Bates Motel that her son is a danger to himself and others. He plans on telling him that he has a feeling (call it intuition) that he could end up hurting her or her (new) husband. How will Norma react when she learns the details about Norman’s other personality, “Mother”?
