Kim Kardashian Reflects On Her Awkward Moment Onstage With Prince: ‘I Was So Star Struck’
Kim Kardashian late Friday night took to Instagram to share her awkward moment from 2011 when Prince kicked her off stage during a concert at New York’s Madison Square Garden.
The reality TV star, 35, posted a snap of herself beside Prince, who was found dead at his Paisley Park estate in Minnesota on Thursday, and revealed how fondly she treasures the encounter even though he kicked her off stage.
In her caption, Kim called Prince as one of her favorite artists.
The followers of the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, however, were not amazed with her tribute. One Instagram user advised her to “just own it he kicked u off.”“I will always remember this moment with one of my favorite artists! I was so star struck I froze! RIP Prince.”
“Don’t lie you already told the world u can’t dance. Just own it he kicked u off. Closer than a lot of us ever got.”
Another added, “The one photo you have with a legend just had to be of him kicking you off stage.”
The snapshot is taken from a footage of the incident, which resurfaced online recently following the untimely demise of the “Purple Rain” singer. He was 57.

According to Daily Mail, the legendary singer is seen laughing in the image as he’s about to boot her off the stage, but Kardashian seems to look back to the awkward moment onstage fondly.
At the 2011 show, Kim was present with her then fiancé Kris Humphries. As she was picked out by Prince, the giggling reality star readily joined him onstage.
While Prince tried to persuade her to dance with him, Kim just stood there awkwardly. She was then wearing a striking Alexander McQueen dress which was emblazoned with an unusual print in vivid shades of red and orange.
When Kim continued to stand motionless, refusing to dance, the frustrated Prince waved his arm at her and said, “Get off my stage!” Kardashian gives a small shrug and trots back to her seat as the crowd cheered.

Kim, who was 30 at the time, took to social media to set the record straight about the somewhat awkward moment.
“I was nervous I froze when Prince touched me!!!!’
According to People, the late singer gave Kardashian a chance to correct the awkward concert moment later on in the night, and she apparently did not disappoint the second time around. After the concert ended, she tweeted her delight.
“Went up on stage AGAIN! This time I redeemed myself. We all played the piano while Prince danced. Wow! What a night!”
After the concert, Kim and her crew attended an after-party at the Darby nightclub, where Prince performed again, with hip-hop artist Talib Kweli. Other celebrity attendees included Chloë Sevigny and Cameron Diaz with her then-boyfriend Alex Rodriguez, according to the New York Daily News.
The last time Prince was seen alive was around 8 p.m. on Wednesday, when he was dropped off at Paisley Park, Carver County Sheriff Jim Olson said. There were no “obvious signs” of trauma visible on Prince’s body when it was discovered around 9:40 a.m. on Thursday, he added.Three people were present at the home when emergency personnel arrived half an hour later. “CPR was immediately started,” Olson said, “but was unsuccessful.” Prince was pronounced dead at 10:07 a.m.
This is so heartbreaking? I had this Prince pic drawn on my wall years ago because his music inspired so many R.I.P? pic.twitter.com/60msa6hm3I
