WWE News: Triple H, Kevin Owens & Others React To Samoa Joe’s NXT Title Win
For those that don’t already know, Samoa Joe and WWE NXT made history last night by executing the first-ever NXT Heavyweight title change at a house show. Joe was victorious in defeating Finn Balor and ending his reign as the longest-NXT champion of all time. What most didn’t expect was how the title changed hands. In a recent excerpt from SEScoops.com, NXT teased that something big may happen at NXT Lowell.
“WWE made a point of mentioning Joe getting the live event title shot on this week’s NXT TV. Prior to the match, fans in attendance were tweeting that WWE had television cameras set up at the show, leading to speculation that there could be a title change.”
So, it appears pulled a fast one on the WWE Universe and was teasing a title change. Others were mentioning on Twitter that Balor wasn’t even supposed to appear on the next episode of NXT. They have all their episodes taped until WWE Payback. Balor is supposed to be on the European Tour for WWE NXT, but like any show, the card is subject to change.
After the news broke that Joe won the NXT championship, many took to social media to share their congratulations to the new champion, as well as say goodbye to Finn Balor, the face of NXT.
Up early for media in Paris, woke to news that @wwebalor, longest @WWENXT champ ever, lost the title. Hope that means what I think! #Reunion

After a superb career in WWE NXT, it’s not time for Balor to go to the main roster and reunite with Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows. He already teased that he’ll be on Monday Night Raw this coming Monday after NXT Lowell last night. On his way to the bus, he was cheered ferociously by the WWE Universe in attendance.
Soon before fans thought Balor was leaving for good, he came out and said, “I’ll see you guys on Monday night.” Either Balor is the ultimate troll, which isn’t a surprise, or he’s being honest to the fans who gathered to see him in Massachusetts last night. If there was a WWE NXT Hall of Fame, Balor would be a first-ballot entrant.
When he entered the fold before NXT R Evolution, not many knew he would become the household name he did. The charisma, in-ring work, and star power Balor has is off the charts. Triple H knew exactly what he had when Fergal Devitt showed up at the WWE Performance Center. Since then, they worked on Balor’s camera work and his entrance.
At NXT R Evolution, Finn Balor’s demon entrance received a “Holy S***” chant in its debut. Only one man ever got that reaction for an entrance, and it was the Undertaker at WrestleMania 28. Aside from that, Balor made history in his first month. Will he do that in his debut on the main roster? Either way, the WWE is about to know the true star of Finn Balor.
