Bam Margera Arrested At North Carolina Airport
Bam Margera was arrested at a North Carolina airport last weekend for being drunk and disorderly, according to TMZ. The former Jackass star was apparently pretty intoxicated when he was handcuffed and escorted by authorities to a holding cell at Charlotte Douglas International Airport. He reportedly spent quite a few hours sobering up before officials would allow him to set foot on an airplane.
Although Margera claims he wasn’t inebriated at the time of the incident — most of his drunken debauchery took place the night before — airport officials were a little concerned about the reality television star’s unruly behavior. In addition to reeking of booze, Margera was apparently spouting expletives within earshot of other passengers. The uncooperative behavior continued when authorities attempted to address the matter. When Bam became combative and unleashed another torrent of obscenities, he was handcuffed and taken to the airport’s holding cell.
The Daily Dish reports that, once Margera had sobered up a bit, the airport allowed him to book another flight. At this time, it would appear that no charges will be filed against Bam.
Earlier this year, Margera decided it would be a good idea to pilot a kayak down a 100-foot waterfall, a stunt which landed the reality television star in the hospital.
“Just did a 100ft tandem kayak jump with pro kayaker Steve Fisher in Oregon!” Bam wrote on Twitter. This message was soon followed by another, more troubled post. “Hernia operation after 100ft kayak drop.”
Last year, Margera was stunned to learn that his good friend, Ryan Dunn, had died in a high-speed automobile accident. “It was the worst phone call I ever got in my life waking up to that. I’ve never lost anybody that I cared about,” he explained. “It’s my best friend… He was the happiest person ever, the smartest guy. He had so much talent, and he had so many things going for him. This is not right, not right.”
