The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunion may have started slow, but it didn’t take too long before emotions got out of control. The main issue at hand was Yolanda Hadid’s disease and recent divorce. While Lisa Rinna and Lisa Vanderpump fought with each other, Hadid got so tired of their arguments that she actually walked off the set.
According to Radar Online , the drama picked up after host Andy Cohen questioned Hadid about her divorce from David Foster. In reply, Hadid explained how their break-up was a prolonged process that centered on her battle with Lyme disease. In the end, Hadid confessed that her illness was the ultimate reason why her marriage fell apart.
Even still, Hadid was surprised by the timing of the divorce. Although the break-up was inevitable, Hadid had hoped they could hold on until she had the disease under control. Of course, that did not happen, and the two announced their split just prior to the premiere of the new season.
Apart from the divorce, emotions ramped up after Cohen asked Hadid’s co-stars about their stance on the Lyme disease controversy. As fans will recall, some of Hadid’s co-stars believed Hadid had Munchausen’s syndrome and wasn’t suffering from Lyme disease. In fact, this was one of the biggest controversies heading into the reunion.
Despite everything that went down during the season, Kyle Richards defended her comments on the matter. “We never questioned whether she had Lyme disease or not. We were wondering also what was contributing to it,” she shared.
From this point, Daily Mail is reporting that Yolanda Hadid took to the offensive and questioned Rinna about her part in the controversy. During the season, Rinna was the first Housewife to mention Munchausen’s syndrome.
“Lisa you have no place to come out and have such strong opinions about the integrity and honesty of me as a human being,” Hadid said.
“What was your basis for being so outspoken, so judgmental? How do you fake medical records? Blood tests?”
However, Rinna quickly defended her actions by placing the blame on Vanderpump. Rinna accused Vanderpump and her husband of talking about Hadid’s health behind her back. Furthermore, Rinna revealed that Vanderpump was the real force behind the accusations of Munchausen syndrome.
“You encouraged me to say Munchausen and guess what? I did it, I did it and I’m sorry,” she stated.
Vanderpump denied the accusations and Rinna responded by displaying her phone records. The phone records served as proof that Vanderpump had called Rinna, though the details of their conversations were not included in the records.
“Ten f**king phone calls!” Rinna yelled at Vanderpump. “You encouraged me to say this!”
According to People , Rinna got the idea that Hadid was suffering from Munchausen’s syndrome because her hairdresser knew someone who had the syndrome. Rinna’s hairdresser planted the idea that Hadid had Munchausen’s, which Rinna then shared with Vanderpump.
Even though she was the first to bring up the topic, Rinna did not tell anyone outside of Vanderpump and Richards. However, after Vanderpump encouraged her to bring it up, Rinna finally broached the topic with her co-stars and the controversy eventually made it onto the show.
Meanwhile, with the two women going back and forth, Hadid had enough of the shouting match and walked off the set in tears. Of course the reunion still has two hours to go, and fans can likely expect Hadid to return for the next two episodes. Whether or not the issues surrounding her health will get resolved are another matter.
