Maisie Williams Pranked ‘Game Of Thrones’ Fans With Surprise Appearance [Video]
Maisie Williams, best known as Arya Stark on Game of Thrones, decided to do a giveaway for the show’s merchandise, sponsored by HBO. However, as the saying goes, there is no such thing as a free lunch, and fans were told there was a condition.
Of course part of the prank was the fact that Maisie changed her name to Lorraine and sat behind the desk at a small role-playing game store. As fans came into the store for the giveaway, they instantly recognized her, but she insisted that she wasn’t who they thought. It would probably be the equivalent of seeing Bryan Cranston or Aaron Paul at a drug paraphernalia shop while they insist they’ve never seen Breaking Bad.

Game of Thrones might not be the first place you’ve seen Maisie Williams, of course. Before she joined the cast of the popular HBO series, she was one of the regular teenagers on the Fine Bros. series called by various names, but it was mostly “Teens React to.” She was then discovered and given roles in minor films, but it was the series based on George R.R. Martin’s novels that earned her widespread fame.
When fans of the series walked into a local hobby store to take advantage of free GoT swag, what they saw inside blew their minds. Practically the first thing they usually said was “Arya Stark” as soon as they saw her, but Maisie told them they were mistaking her for someone else.
After this correction, they asked about the free Game of Thrones merchandise, to which she replied, “We don’t give it [away] free, you have to do something first.”

That something was acting out various scenes from Game of Thrones, and some were classier than others. One scene was one of the many featuring the show’s incest, and Maisie played the role of someone walking in on it.
Maisie Williams also had fun with one fan who insisted she was the Arya Stark actress, and she pointed at the figure in the box and told them it was a boy. One even looked at the bobblehead and admitted that Arya might just be a boy.
At one point, Maisie Williams even turned the whole recognition thing back on a customer, swearing she’s seen him somewhere before, like in England or on Tinder. She also told some who literally told her she was Arya Stark that she’s never seen Game of Thrones, but she’s heard it was a good show.
Prior to this prank, Maisie had remarked about the show for interested fans on the internet, saying that her stunt double may be doing it wrong. She claims she can clearly see it’s not her. This same level of recognition plagued customers in the hobby store who knew who she was despite her telling them she’s Lorraine and has never seen the show.
For fans waiting on Season 6, Maisie Williams says it will probably be similar to The Walking Dead in expectations. In TWD, the sixth season ended with a major character’s alleged death, although it was made questionable whether said character was really dead. It could also be the fact that the next season of Game of Thrones will be done before George R.R. Martin is done writing the source material, so the book and the TV series could end up very different.
