RHONJ’s Jim Marchese Arrested For Domestic Violence Against Amber Marchese [Report]
Former Real Housewives of New Jersey star Jim Marchese was allegedly arrested on domestic violence charges against wife Amber Marchese.
E! News is reporting that Marchese was arrested after getting off a plane at Los Angeles airport on April 19 after allegedly getting into a physical altercation with wife Amber Marchese on board the flight.
Los Angeles police confirmed Marchese’s arrest in a statement issued to the site on April 20, where the Los Angeles Police Department revealed that a male suspect had been arrested at the airport after making threats against an unnamed female victim and grabbing her by the throat.
“At the request of officers, a male suspect and a female victim left the aircraft,” the police department told E! News, revealing that “Additional questioning revealed the suspect had grabbed the victim by the throat and made threats against her.”
The statement also revealed that “suspect James Marchese was arrested and transported to LAPD Pacific Division where he was booked.”
E! News reported that Jim Marchese was then charged with domestic violence and was allowed out on $50,000 bail ahead of a court hearing scheduled for May 11.TMZ also reported that Jim was arrested after departing the flight in California and revealed that Amber quickly followed her husband to the Los Angeles police station to bail him out.
In a video the site obtained of Jim and Amber Marchese leaving the station, the former Real Housewives of New Jersey stars can be seen having what appears to be a serious conversation within the confines of the building before leaving together hand in hand.
Jim Marchese then relayed his side of the story to the awaiting paparazzi, where he claimed that he and Amber were “all good” following the in-flight incident.
“You know, we’re all sleeping, having a good time on the plane…,” Jim can be seen telling the paparazzi in the video, before suggesting that he was going to sue the airline over the event. “I guess Virgin Atlantic wanted to take care of my kid’s scholarship fund,” Marchese said.
Jim then admitted in the video that he was “definitely” be pressing charges and would be bringing about “civil litigation.”
While Amber did not speak in the video, Marchese took to Instagram before their legal drama where she revealed that herself and Jim were preparing for their red eye flight to Los Angeles.
“Red eye. Yup,” Amber Marchese captioned the black and white selfie, which appeared to be taken in an airport, where a slew of fans later brought up the alleged domestic violence incident in the photo’s comments section.
“You should get out of a bad domestically violent relationship,” @nikfrancoo commented on the photo, while @martika68 told Amber to “Get out. You are still young.”
Instagram user @bargainangelface also left a comment on Amber’s the photo, claiming that it was “clear” Jim had “anger issues” when the couple appeared on the sixth season of Bravo’s Real Housewives of New Jersey in 2014.
“It was very clear on the show your husband has anger issues. Save the editing excuse because this is how he behaved & constantly showed everyone including you disrespect,” the Instagram fan told Marchese on the photo sharing site. “He’s a creep & [all] that show did was highlight his pre-existing anger issues. You’re worth more than how he treats you,” the social media user added of Jim.
The incident comes just months after Amber and Jim confirmed that they would be leaving the reality series after just one season and admitted in a statement that appearing on the reality show was not “what [they] expected it to be.”
“Jim and I have been giving Real Housewives of New Jersey a lot of thought and given the current state of affairs regarding our personal lives and the direction of the show, we officially decided to move on,” Amber Marchese said in a statement issued to People. “The show was not what we expected it to be, and I want to pursue more suitable endeavors,” Marchese added.
