Jean-Claude Van Damme Reveals 90s Affair With Kylie Minogue
Jean-Claude Van Damme is currently starring in the upcoming big-screen action flick The Expendables 2, which opens in North American theaters on August 17. In order to help spread the word about his big-screen endeavor, Van Damme has done a few interviews, discussing everything from his latest feature to the women he used to sleep with back in the day. That’s right — Van Damme’s sex life is being dragged into the spotlight by the man himself.
TMZ reports that Van Damme revealed his secret 90s affair with singer Kylie Minogue in a recent interview. The two famously starred in writer-director Steven E. de Souza’s 1994 misfire Street Fighter, an adaptation of the the popular video game. During his chat with The Guardian, JCVD went into vivid detail about the pair’s tryst, giving readers a little too much information.
“I tell you what, you should ask her. She’ll have a better memory,” he attempted to explain. “I’m 51 years old, do you know how much I was punched in the face on The Expendables? No, no. No. And let’s just say it happened, so what? Who wants to know? … Sometimes you let go of stuff … I don’t know, maybe. Yes. OK. Yes, yes, yes. It happened. I was in Thailand, we had an affair.”
Although Van Damme claims his memory is spotty, he apparently doesn’t have much of a problem recalling some of the more intimate details of their encounter.
“Sweet kiss, beautiful lovemaking,” he added. “It would be abnormal not to have had an affair, she’s so beautiful and she was there in front of me every day with a beautiful smile, simpatico, so charming, she wasn’t acting like a big star. I knew Thailand very well, so I showed her my Thailand. She’s a great lady.”
JCVD’s interview with The Guardian documents the actor’s ups and downs in the film industry and touches upon some of the darker elements in his life. However, when asked about his fight scene with childhood hero Sylvester Stallone, Van Damme instantly perks up.
“The fans, they want to see Muhammad Ali against Frasier,” he explained. “Hand to hand combat. So I said to Stallone, ‘We’re two gladiators! I have to kick the shit out of you, and then you kick the shit out of me.’ And I think people will love it.”
The Expendables 2 opens this Friday.
