‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers: What Comes Next For Abigail And Jennifer As They Both Battle To Regain Their Balance?

There are big storylines on the way for Days of Our Lives as the May sweeps approach. Jennifer is struggling with a painkiller addiction after the accident where Daniel died. Meanwhile, Abigail is trying to pull herself together after another intense confrontation with Ben. This mother-and-daughter duo will be facing some tough times in the episodes ahead, and viewers cannot wait to see how it all comes together.

Actress Melissa Reeves, who plays Jennifer, chatted with TV Insider to share some juicy Days of Our Lives spoilers. She says that the drug addiction storyline of Jenn’s is about to get really ugly, as quite soon she will be hitting rock bottom. Viewers have already seen plenty of cringe-worthy moments as Jenn and Eric wallowed in their respective addictions, and even ended up in bed together, but things are about to get even worse.

Reeves shares there is an entire episode coming soon that will focus on Jenn’s struggle with her painkiller addiction. Fans have known for a while now that Matthew Ashford would be back as Jack Deveraux this spring, and many have thought that his return might be related to Abigail. Days of Our Lives spoilers now reveal that instead, Jack’s return is for his love Jennifer.

Jenn will hallucinate or have visions of Jack, and Days of Our Lives spoilers detail that viewers get many scenes of Jack and Jennifer together. He will be trying to help her regain her stability and sobriety. Reeves teases that they are really wonderful scenes. While many viewers would love to see Jack return alive and well in some magical soap opera way, seeing him back with Jenn again to try to help her overcome her addiction will surely be powerful and worth tuning in to see.

Not only does Jennifer struggle to kick her addiction, but Days of Our Lives spoilers tease that she will soon be trying to gain custody of Thomas. As We Love Soaps details, this week Abigail will be opening up to Marlena about what happened with Ben, and she will be determined to get well for the sake of Thomas. Given the fact that Kate Mansi will be leaving the role of Abigail soon, many viewers speculate that she will head off to a psychiatric facility for a bit in the weeks to come.

The buzz is that Chad will take over as Thomas’ primary caretaker while Abigail is away, but Jennifer decides to fight him for custody. It sounds as if this battle takes place after Jenn manages to clean up her own issues a bit, but her struggles with addiction may well haunt her as she tries to pull Thomas away from Chad.

Would a judge really give custody of Thomas to Jennifer over Chad? Given the fact that Andre is about to be shaking things up in Salem again, Chad could be facing a tough fight given his family’s history in town. However, he will surely be battling hard to keep his son with him. It is not yet known when Mansi’s last air date as Abigail will be, though it may well come during May sweeps considering that Kate reportedly wrapped up filming her scenes before the end of 2015.

The buzz is that Abigail will briefly take Thomas and run off, but she doesn’t stay away from Salem long. She is anxious over handling all that has happened with Ben. Days of Our Lives spoilers tease that ultimately she will need to take some time away by herself. A new actress for the role of Abigail has not yet been announced, though it is believed that it will be fall before someone new is in place.

Does seeing Jack give Jennifer what she needs in order to be able to straighten herself out? How far will Abigail sink before she manages to regain her balance and her sanity? Things are seemingly going to get worse before they get better for these two, but it sounds as if brighter days are ahead. Fans cannot wait to see how it all plays out over the coming weeks on Days of Our Lives.
