One Direction’s Harry Styles denies Larry Stylinson rumors yet again. Band members and former member Zayn Malik are fed up with Larry and are ready to kick this imaginary friend to the curb once and for all. Stylinson caused a lot of embarrassment to the boys as impressionable teens. Liam Payne believes it is time to kill Stylinson, and be done with him once and for all. The problem is that they have all tried before, and Larry just won’t die.

Harry Styles says Larry Stylinson isn’t real. While having a full 37 minutes of face time with a fan, Harry revealed again this weekend, Larry isn’t real. These rumors, born of fan fiction, have plagued One Direction throughout the history of the band. They have been repeatedly denied by everyone associated with the band, yet even now Harry remains sweet and peaceful throughout, simply stating that there is no Larry.

One Direction members consistently wage war on Larry, who has been like a sixth member of the band. Larry Stylinson is code for the unquenchable rumor that Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson are having a sexual relationship. The rumor has haunted the band for years, and enough is enough, according to Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik. This old clip below shows them denying the Stylinson rumors four years ago, and they are still denying it, even as recently as this weekend.

Zayn Malik told the Fader that the Larry rumors interfered with every friendly gesture between One Direction members since Stylinson made his appearance. Larry is not real, and he’s toxic to guys wanting to hang out, interact, and be natural without someone inferring they are in a relationship.

“There’s no secret relationships going on with any of the band members. It’s not funny, and it still continues to be quite hard for them. They won’t naturally go put their arm around each other because they’re conscious of this thing that’s going on, which is not even true. They won’t do that natural behavior.”

One Direction’s Liam Payne says Larry isn’t true and it makes him mad. Liam is very angry, according to an interview with Attitude Magazine. He took up for Styles and Tomlinson every time he got a chance because the rumors felt like bullying. Payne says he was miserable when included in pornographic gay drawings sent to the band by misguided fans. Gossip Cop stepped in to put away these rumors once and for all with quotes from the Attitude Magazine interview.

“I get tagged in drawings of Louis and Harry being together. I remember one time I was sitting next to my dad and I see this picture of me on top of Niall [Horan], which was quite intimidating. It’s just really weird to have people drawing these sexually explicit pictures of us in strange situations.”

Harry Styles does not seem to complain easily. He never publicly complained about the hacking of his mother’s iCloud. Hackers released his personal photos and put him in an awkward situation with Kendall Jenner. He didn’t rant and rave then, and he isn’t now. Harry just calmly stated it isn’t true. Sometimes, it is hard to speak up when being victimized, but Harry and Louis have spoken out against Stylinson repeatedly for years.

One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson spoke out on Twitter, denying Stylinson rumors, back in 2012. The reaction on Twitter amounted to epic cyber-bullying, and that one tweet still gets replies in 2016. Though Louis stopped replying years ago, tweets directed at him blatantly accuse him of lying, and of having relations with Styles. The original comment speaks for itself.

“How’s this, Larry is the biggest load of bulls**t I’ve ever heard. I’m happy. Why can’t you accept that?”

Liam Payne has been outspoken against Stylinson rumors recently. He complained fiercely to Attitude Magazine.

“There were loads of rainbow flags flying at our shows, but I think that was mainly because people think of the Louis and Harry thing, which is absolutely nuts and drives me insane. It’s like when you know the ins and outs of what is going on with people it’s just annoying when it’s so stupid. It becomes like a conspiracy or like a cult, the people that watch them and think that every move they make is a gesture toward them being together, and I know it’s not true and it makes me mad.”

Harry Styles, according to more mainstream sources, is allegedly a womanizer with a steady stream of beautiful women, some staying the night. He has an on-and-off relationship with Kendall Jenner and dated Taylor Swift.

One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson is currently walking a tightrope between a baby mamma and a steady girlfriend. There is a real baby and there are photos of that baby online. Yet somehow, people keep believing in Larry. Louis was angered months ago when fans insisted his baby was not real.

Liam Payne is passed defensive denying and gets a bit judgmental about the preoccupation of some fans, determined to believe Harry and Louis are gay and in a relationship.

“One Direction female fans are so young, I don’t think it’s the right hobby for these girls to be enjoying. I find it very strange that someone so young can think up these stories or even imagine these things are going on. That for me is the sad and sorry side of what we have done.”

Zayn Malik has a theory on why Stylinson lives, and why he may not be all bad, despite the fact he is allegedly ripping One Direction apart by making members feel so self-conscious. Zayn revealed his hypothesis to Fader.

“But it’s just the way the fans are. They’re so passionate, and once they get their head around an idea, that’s the way it is regardless of anything. If it wasn’t for that passionate, like, almost obsession, then we wouldn’t have the success that we had.”

Still, One Direction can’t behave naturally around each other out of fear that the slightest gesture could be misinterpreted. Does it really matter considering all those Photoshop pictures of them kissing each other are already flooding the internet? Fan fiction stories are prolific, with erotic themes that are embarrassing to them all. Certain fans won’t believe their denials no matter what, so why not just go ahead and hug? Because now they are so self-conscious and miserable, they simply cannot make themselves behave normally.

One Direction’s Liam Payne has taken a lot of criticism for his avid denial, which some see as homophobic, but Liam says it is simply the truth. Is it homophobic not to be gay? Is it homophobic to stop a false gay rumor about friends?
