WWE News: ‘Monday Night RAW’ Preview — Ambrose, Owens, Zayn Headline UK Show

It appears as though WrestleMania 32 truly served as a turning point for Vince McMahon and the WWE. There has been an influx of youth and new faces appearing on WWE Monday Night Raw ever since WrestleMania weekend in Dallas, and it looks as if Shane McMahon will be the face they put on the new movement. Triple H and Stephanie haven’t been seen on WWE TV since the big event at AT&T Stadium.

Meanwhile, with Shane in control, AJ Styles will be headlining the next PPV. The tag team division has added the Vaudevillains, Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady, and the Bullet Club. Baron Corbin and Apollo Crews have joined the main roster, and the feud between Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens has taken center stage. While major changes like these don’t always go over well with the WWE Universe, the post-Mania crowd in Dallas loved it, as did the always-electric Staples Center in Los Angeles. This week, they will be in London, one of the greatest wrestling cities in the world, where these fresh faces will almost certainly be to the crowd’s liking.

Below is another look at WWE.com’s official Monday Night RAW preview. Each week, it provides the WWE Universe with a heads-up in regards to the assumed events that will take place on the WWE’s flagship program, live on the USA Network.

WWE Monday Night RAW Preview

Second perhaps only to the post-WrestleMania audiences, the fans in the UK aren’t like your typical WWE RAW audience. Now that WWE is pushing the sort of content that hardcore wrestling fans have been clamoring for, how electric will the WWE Universe in London get tonight?

Will rivalries reach a boiling point?

With AJ Styles currently occupying the No. 1 contender spot for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, four other top-tier talents are trying to set themselves up to headline big events as SummerSlam is really just around the corner.

From his shoulder injury prior to facing John Cena to a tough loss against The Phenomenal One, Sami Zayn hasn’t had a ton of success since being promoted to the main roster. Will he finally get his payback against Kevin Owens at Payback? Will the “Ambrose Asylum” eventually replace “The Highlight Reel” as an interview segment on RAW? And have we already forgotten about the surprise return of Cesaro?

Can Reigns continue to silence his critics as “the guy” in WWE?

Somebody came up with a new line for Roman Reigns, and the WWE Universe can bet their bottom dollar that they’ll be hearing the phrase over and over and over — until everyone loves it or everyone hates it.

In London, it may be especially true that Roman isn’t a “good guy” all the time, and there are certainly crowds that don’t see him as a “bad guy” either. But will “the guy” in WWE spend tonight dealing with AJ Styles, Bray Wyatt and The Wyatt Family, or the League of Nations?

Might Shane McMahon run his third consecutive Raw?

It seems pretty clear that Shane McMahon has become a new part of RAW. If he doesn’t show his face in England tonight, it’s only to make the WWE Universe want him back even more.

When the “Shane era” includes things like a push for Sami Zayn, AJ Styles headlining Payback, and the introduction of talent like Enzo Amore and Big Cass, the Internet Wrestling Community (IWC) and the WWE Universe are going to keep wanting more.

Is Emma in for an Irish Lass Kicking?

The entire women’s division is undergoing a makeover as the WWE Divas Championship was rebranded the WWE Women’s Championship during WrestleMania 32. Along with that shift, Emma was introduced into the Total Divas match in Dallas.

While Charlotte was last seen dealing with Natalya, both Emma and Becky Lynch would love to get a shot at Flair’s gold when Payback comes around. Could the winner of the match in London earn a title shot at the show that is less than two weeks away?

Who will advance in the No. 1 Contenders’ Tag Team Tournament?

If the introductions of the Bullet Club and Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady weren’t enough to get tag team fans excited, then perhaps the Booty-O’s sponsored tournament will do the trick.

With just four teams left in the tournament, we’re likely to see the finals set by the end of the night. Keeping with the theme of new talent getting serious screen time, could The Vaudevillains face Enzo Amore & Colin Cassady next week, only to be interrupted by The Bullet Club?

Where To Watch

WWE Payback airs live on the WWE Network on Sunday, May 1 at 7/6c.

WWE Monday Night RAW airs live on the USA Network at 8/7c. Replays of WWE RAW aren’t made available on the WWE Network until several weeks after the original air date. However, a 90-minute version of Monday Night RAW is available to stream on-demand the following day with a Hulu Plus subscription.
