Vanessa Paradis Opens Up After Split With Johnny Depp
Vanessa Paradis might have been seen recently with her ex Johnny Depp earlier in August, but now it looks like the model Paradis is willing to talk about her new independence she has gained now that she’s separated from Johnny Depp.
When French Elle magazine asked about her longtime partner Johnny Depp in a recent interview, Paradis was leery to give much away about her ex lover, remaining private about her failed partnership, saying,” I don’t want to talk about him. Who said that artists should sell their soul, expose everything about themselves? … It’s my duty to promote this movie, and my albums, but can you imagine what it feels like to see people making a business out of your pain.”
However, she comes around to talking about her current state as a single woman, reflecting to the magazine, “I don’t have the recipe for happiness, but I think the engine is simply having the desire.”
She continues, “It’s not feeling obliged or forced or repeating yourself. I hate, for example, whenever you hear someone say: ‘You have work at being a couple.’ No, you have to want to be there.” Paradis goes on to state simply, “And for me, I want to be right where I am right now.”
Vanessa Paradis, who lives in France and the United States, plans to live in both countries, but the majority of her time will be spent in America while her children with Depp — Lily-Rose 14, and Jack, 10 — attend school in Los Angeles, which is primarily where the actor works.
