Kim Kardashian was obviously a very brave little girl. Kim’s sister, Kourtney Kardashian , told Elle that Mrs. Kanye West would often play with bees when she was a child, Us Weekly reports.

This little snippet of the Kardashian childhood came up unexpectedly during the interview after Kourtney was asked whether she was afraid of bees. The question stems from the fact that Kourtney Kardashian is currently the face of Manuka Doctor Honey , a line of all-natural skin products that are honey based.

“No, I am [scared of bees]! Although thankfully, I’m not allergic,” she began, before opening up about Kim’s peculiar childhood habit. “But you know who’s not? Kim. When Kim was little, she used to hold bees and play with them.”
Kourtney recalled that Kim stayed friends with the bees until they turned on her.
“Finally, she got stung and she stopped,” Kourtney added. “But they were like her friends”
Although Kim got stung, Kourtney insisted that her sister still loves animals which is why she thought the rumor that Kim set a skunk on fire was completely ridiculous.
“The first thing my mind goes to is, there was some random rumor floating around that Kim lit a skunk on fire,” the oldest Kardashian daughter told Elle . “I know. It’s absurd. It’s the strangest thing I’ve ever heard. Obviously Kim does not set living things on fire! And anything I’ve heard about myself, it just pales in comparison to that. It’s the weirdest thing I’ve ever heard.”
Kourtney isn’t the only one who has been sharing insights into Kim Kardashian’s past recently. USA Today reports that biographer, Ian Halperin, has been poking around the Kardashian family history and pulled out some juicy details about Kim especially.
Halperin, who has written a book called Kardashian Dynasty , says that Paris Hilton has a whole lot to do with Kim Kardashian’s stratospheric rise to celebrity stardom.
“Without Paris Hilton there would be no Kim Kardashian,” Halperin told USA Today . “(Kim) studied her, took notes and took her to a completely different level.”
But, of course, Kris Jenner played, and continues to play, a huge role in the commercial viability of the Kardashian name.
“Kris Jenner to me is perhaps the best business person I’ve ever seen in Hollywood. She’s shrewd, ruthless and knows how to close a deal better than anybody,” Halperin said.
Ian Halperin also had a bombshell revelation about Kris Jenner’s knowledge of Caitlyn Jenner’s transgender identity, USA Today reports.
“She had known for years. Bruce was dressing in women’s clothes,” he said. “But she was madly in love with him, he would have come out years earlier I explain in the book, quote multiple sources close to family. No doubt he would have come out much earlier if Kris wouldn’t have turned him to religion.”
Halperin also put forward some interesting theories about the timing of Caitlyn’s Jenner’s Diane Sawyer interview and Vanity Fair cover, noting that it was suspiciously close to a fatal accident Jenner was involved in a couple of months prior. The news of the accident was overshadowed by Caitlyn’s coming out story. According to Ian Halperin, this was intentional. Eventually, the Los Angeles District Attorney decided not to prosecute Caitlyn Jenner.
Ultimately, Kris Jenner is the architect behind the Kardashian-Jenner empire, and Halperin suggests that anyone wanting to replicate their success should study her.
“Anyone who wants to be an impresario in entertainment should study the Kris Jenner method,” Halperin says. “It is powerful and extremely extremely brilliant. They have had a lot of problems, but no matter what, they turn lemons into lemonade, and that is a big key to life.”
“Love them or hate them, you can’t deny their success and the power of their networking,” he says.
