Portland, OR – An intoxicated man was collected and compacted by a garbage truck after he decided to take a nap inside a dumpster, according to KGW. Twenty-seven-year-old Justin Gilpatrick was smart enough to realize that he’d had a bit too much to drink early Friday morning, so he wisely chose not to drive home. Instead, he hopped into a nearby dumpster to take a quick nap. What he didn’t anticipate, of course, was the arrival of a garbage truck the next morning.
Much to Gilpatrick’s horror, the truck arrived around 1 am to collect the refuse inside the container, including the inebriated man himself. The driver, oblivious to the guy hitching a ride in the garbage, continued on his route, compacting the waste twice during his early-morning routine. It wasn’t until he arrived at Mall 205 that he realized he was carrying around an extra passenger.
KSEE reports that Gilpatrick was screaming inside the truck, as any normal human being would. The driver, understandably shaken by the unexpected encounter, managed to keep the injured man on the scene until paramedics could arrive. Although Justin received minor injuries as a direct result of his adventure through the city’s waste management system, he is expected to survive the ordeal. Fortunately for him, he won’t face charges for the fiasco.
“I have not had a drink in years and the one time I do this I what happens. I will never drink again,” Gilpatrick reportedly posted on his Facebook page.
According to The Daily Mail , Justin’s friendly also had a very eventful evening. After leaving his buddy to doze in a dumpster, he was involved in a three-car accident.
“His vw Is done but his ok for the most part,” he posted on Facebook. “we started the night out well and ended it with both of us makIng the news.i think I’m going to stay home and watch a movie tonight.”
