Miley Cyrus Shaves Head, Debuts New Shorter Style [Photo]
Miley Cyrus finally showed fans what she’s been hinting at on Twitter for the past few days, starting earlier today with a photo of her long locks tied into a bun that was being threatened by a pair of scissors.
Now, the newly engaged star has changed her Twitter picture to show her new hairstyle, a bleached-blonde pixie cut that looks shaved on one side, reports Gather.com.
Fans have been wondering what Miley’s big announcement could be: a new album, an elopement? Instead, the singer, known for changing her hair, made a drastic appearance change: from dyed blonde longer locks to a short, boyish cut that, admittedly, makes her look younger than before.
Miley tweeted the photo of a hairstylist threatening her hair with scissors, along with the caption of “bye bye @Mileys_Bun,” then tweeting a short while later:
“if you don’t have something nice to say don’t say anything at all. my hair is attached to my head no one else’s and it’s going bye bye :).”
The before and after pictures were documented on Miley Cyrus’s Twitter account where fans were either incredibly supportive of the singer’s drastic hairstyle change or were vehemently opposed to it. The Examiner’s Mandy Robinson writes of Miley’s new ‘do that:
“From the pictures, it looks like she simply put her hair in a ponytail and then cut it off. They might have straightened it out some, but honestly it is unknown if they did or not.”
Miley Cyrus posted a series of tweets to keep fans in the loop during the process, saying:

Style Bistro’s Danica Lo speculated on the reason for Miley’s big change, writing:
“All of this begs the question, we think, about her engagement to Liam Hemsworth. Most brides-to-be don’t chop off all their hair right before a wedding. Does this mean that Miley isn’t planning on getting hitched anytime soon?”
