In a recent interview with ComicBook.com at a press event for Captain America: Civil War , directors of the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War Joe and Anthony Russo strongly hinted that Starlord, the hero Chris Pratt played to great acclaim in the 2014 film Guardians of the Galaxy, will appear in the film.
Anthony Russo was especially excited about the prospect of Pratt’s appearance in the ever-expanding Marvel Comics universe the Avengers films present, and he said that he is a big fan of both Chris Pratt and Guardians of the Galaxy writer and director James Gunn.

“The movies are intended to be a culmination of everything that’s happened before in the MCU so you don’t want to get into spoilers but I’m a big fan of what James Gunn has done. [Joe Russo and I] are both big fans of what James Gunn has done. Star-Lord is a fantastic character and Chris Pratt is an awesome performer so you’d be very excited.”
Movie-goers would likely be excited, as Pratt’s Star-Lord was immensely popular. Before Guardians of the Galaxy was released in August 2014, notes Hitfix , most casual TV and movie watchers only knew Chris Pratt for his comedic acting on shows like Parks and Recreation and his small supporting roles in movies like Zero Dark Thirty . He was always great, but very few saw Pratt as the type who could carry the lead role in an action sci-fi flick.
That is why it shocked and delighted the masses when Chris Pratt busted out what movie reviewer Chris Stuckmann , and many fans, saw as the best performance of his career.

Pratt’s performance was not just compelling, sources agreed, but it really managed to make viewers grow attached to Chris’s Star-Lord.
“[Pratt’s] character has a lot of heart to him,” said Stuckmann in his review of Guardians of the Galaxy .
“You really care about him. And I’m not just saying this because I like Marvel movies and superhero stuff. He’s really good in this movie. A very good, interesting character that you can get behind. He’s like an amalgamation of Luke Skywalker and Indiana Jones all in one.”
And it looks like Pratt made a very good career choice by playing up the lovable side of Star-Lord, because now Star-Lord is getting an even larger gig in a bigger Marvel blockbuster. Pratt’s signature, comedic yet heroic persona will surely compliment the action comedy vibe that Marvel films have become famous for.
Besides Pratt’s Star-Lord, the Russos confirmed that Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, another character that did not appear in the soon-to-be-released Captain America: Civil War , would be one of the heroes is Infinity War .
“I’m excited to work with Thor,” said Joe Russo.
“They’re doing some really interesting stuff with Ragnarok and where he’s gonna be at the beginning of Infinity War is gonna be a very interesting place and I think very profound. I think he’s gonna have a real emotional motivation after that.”
Mark Ruffalo’s Incredible Hulk and Chris Evans’ Captain America are also slated to join Chris Pratt on the Avengers: Infinity War set, reports Gizmodo .

Avengers: Infinity War, Part I will hit theaters on May 4, 2018. Chris Pratt fans may have a long time to wait in order to see Star-Lord reprise his role, but with any luck all the time between now and the release date will pay off with an even better performance than audiences have seen from Pratt in the past.
