Obama doing phone pow-wows with bloggers to sell health plan

US President Barack Obama, having seemingly ignored much of the grassroots online activists that helped elect him last year, now wants something from them and he’s been on the phone to get it.

According to a report at the Huffington Post, Obama led a phone pow-wow “with a handful of prominent progressive bloggers” asking them to “keep the heat on lawmakers to pass health care reform.” He also asked the bloggers “for help combating disinformation about his health care plan.”

“I know the blogs are best at debunking myths that can slip through a lot of the traditional media outlets,” Obama is reported to have told the bloggers. “And that is why you are going to play such an important role in our success in the weeks to come.”

The full list of those on the call wasn’t available, but included Jonathan Singer of MyDD to John Amato of Crooks and Liars. Change you can believe in…when ever the president wants something, but not the rest of the time when he ignores you…or insults you.
