Britney Spears To Collaborate With Nicki Minaj For New Album [Report]
Britney Spears is reportedly hoping to land herself another collaboration with rapper Nicki Minaj amid reports that the singer is planning to release her forthcoming album in less than four weeks.
Spears, who has been working on her latest record for the past two years, is said to have approached Minaj in the hopes that the “Super Bass” hitmaker will find a song she can see herself dropping a verse to.

Considering that Britney’s album is supposedly expected to drop in early May, the delayed process of getting the Nicki Minaj feature could set the entire promotional campaign in shambles, especially since the song has not even been recorded yet.
A source tells Hollywood Life, “Britney has reached out to Nicki and has sent her tracks to see if she would like to do a verse or rap on any of her new music.” The insider concluded by saying, “It is between two or three songs right now that Britney wants Nicki to be on. They just have to mutually select the perfect one for a future single and video.”
Fans doubt that the collaboration will happen since Minaj is currently held up promoting her latest movie, Barbershop: The Next Cut. For the rapper, who has openly admitted to preferring to write and rap her lyrics at her own recording studio in Los Angeles, Britney Spears could quite possibly be out of luck.

Sources report that the 34-year-old is determined in getting Nicki onboard, but considering that the label is reportedly looking at a release date that’s just four weeks away, it seems that the chances of Minaj making the cut are very unlikely.
Releasing an album that currently has Britney Spears feeling anything but satisfied would be a wrongful decision, particularly since the songstress clearly wants to hold out on this one particular feature.
But aside from that, fans on social media have also stressed that Britney possibly delaying the album could actually work in her favor since Drake and Beyonce are also expected to release new music by the end of the month.
The competition is bound to be extremely high, and in order to avoid first-week sales collisions, Spears is best off to wait until she is content with how her album is coming together before even considering to release the record, one fan added.

The announcement of Britney Spears gearing up to unveil new music comes three years after the singer revealed her eighth studio album Britney Jean, which opened with first-week sales of 107,000 copies. Evidently enough, it is Spears’ lowest-selling record to date despite having produced a top 20 single with “Work B****.”
Britney’s previous collaboration with Minaj titled “Till The World Ends (Remix),” landed the duo a peak position at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 before being named one of 2011’s best-selling songs.
Going by that, it seems as if Britney Spears is hoping to recapture the success she shared with Nicki in the past, especially since her last album was so poorly received by fans and critics. While the chances are slim, it looks as if Britney will hold out for the opportunity of getting to work with the “Anaconda” star as long as she has to.
