Britney Spears To Release New Album In May — Details [Report]

Britney Spears is making her big return to the music scene.

According to a new tweet by Vegas Deluxe reporter Robin Leach, Spears will be dropping her much-anticipated ninth studio album in as little as four weeks.

The journalist announced the big Britney news in a tweet posted on the social media site on April 10, where Leach claimed that Vegas Deluxe will break the big news about Spears’ upcoming album, new music video, and new single on April 11.

“Coming Monday at Vegas DeLuxe: Britney selects her new single and will shoot its video the following Monday with album coming in 4 weeks,” Leach tweeted out about Britney’s new music in a message that has since been re-tweeted more than 1,000 times.

While Spears and her team have yet to confirm the big news, PopCrush noted in a report following the tweet that Leach “has provided consistently reliable exclusives regarding Britney’s latest career moves ever since she kicked off her Piece Of Me residency in Las Vegas at the end of 2013.”

The site also revealed that Robin was the journalist was behind Britney’s recent revealing interview with the Las Vegas Sun in February, where Spears teased that fans can expect to hear new music from her “very soon.”

At the time, Leach quizzed Spears about her much-anticipated as-yet-untitled ninth studio album, and although Britney played coy when it came to giving away any big new details, the “Hold It Against Me” singer did tease earlier this year, “You’ll be hearing something new from me soon… very soon.”

Leach’s revelation that Britney Spears could be dropping new music in just one month’s time caused shock waves across Britney’s fans online, who took to social media to share their excitement of the huge new music news.

“New Britney album in 4 weeks better not be a drill! I. CANT. DEAL. knowing a new single will bless us any day now!! #B9 #NewMusic,” @shychiguy tweeted out, while @joemichs wrote on the social media site, “WE COULD HAVE A NEW BRITNEY ALBUM BY THIS TIME NEXT MONTH.”

“A NEW BRITNEY ALBUM WITHIN FOUR WEEKS???? FOUR. This is so soon I’m not prepared,” @rosslohan added, while @Johnn_G wrote on Twitter, “call an ambulance a new britney album is on its way ohmyGOD.”

Although Britney Spears has been staying tight-lipped on her new release recently, Spears was surprisingly vocal about her upcoming album in a recent interview with V magazine, where she admitted that she feels her new album is “the best thing [she’s] done in a long time.”

“Honestly, I’m just particular with this record. It’s my baby, and so I really want it done right,” Spears told the magazine of the album, which fans have dubbed #B9, back in February. “I just know that the direction I’m going in is so good. It’s the best thing I’ve done in a long time. I’m proud of the work, and it’s very different; it’s not what you would think at all.”

But while Britney couldn’t help but gush about her upcoming release with V magazine earlier this year, Spears played coy when it came to stamping a release date on her ninth studio release.

“I would much rather have it be completely how I want it to be, whether that takes another year for me to do, or two months,” Britney teased of the album back in February. “I have no idea at this point. But I’m not rushing anything. I just want it to be done right, so that my fans will truly appreciate it.”
