‘Dancing With The Stars’ Disney Night Songs Revealed, Doug Flutie Or Jodie Sweeten The Next To Go?
Dancing with the Stars is getting ready for another round of Disney Night as the competition heads into its fourth week. The official song list has been revealed, and fans are already wondering which celebrity will get to boot this week. Following lackluster performances last week, will Doug Flutie or Jodie Sweetin be the next to go?
This marks the third time Dancing with the Stars has featured songs from some of the most beloved Disney movies of all time. According to Buddy TV, the upcoming episode will feature songs from Aladdin (“Friend Like Me”), Marry Poppins (“A Spoon Full of Sugar”), The Lion King (“Circle of Life”), Tarzan (“Trashin’ the Camp”), Toy Story (“You’ve Got a Friend in Me”), The Jungle Book (“I Wanna Be Like You”), The Little Mermaid (“Part of Your World”), Cinderella (“A Dream Is a Wish”), Zootopia (“Try Everything”), and Beauty and the Beast (“Belle”).
Unfortunately, not all of the movies are new this time around. In fact, there are only three movie inspired songs that are completely new, including Toy Story, Zootopia, and Tarzan. Furthermore, three of the films have been featured on Disney night in all three years of the show. This includes Aladdin, Mary Poppins, and The Little Mermaid. That being said, only Aladdin’s “Friend Like Me” has been performed in the past.
With fans already looking forward to one of Dancing With the Stars’ most magical nights, the only question remaining is which celebrity is up for elimination. With this year’s weakest contestants, Mischa Barton and Geraldo Rivera, getting the boot in the past two weeks, which performers are on the out in week four?
According to TV Guide, Doug Flutie is the most likely contestant up for elimination this week. After all, the former NFL star has not performed well in the past three weeks and really only made it through because of his partner, Karina Smirnoff.
As fans will recall, Smirnoff and Flutie performed a waltz last week that was dedicated to the memory of his parents. Considering the heartwarming tribute, there is little question why the judges did not dock him harder on points. Even still, Flutie has only averaged 18 out of 30 in the first three weeks, making him the weakest contestant on the dance floor.
At the same time, there are a number of contestants who are in the same boat as Flutie. In fact, Antonio Brown, Von Miller, and Kim Fields have only averaged 20 out of 30 so far. Furthermore, Flutie has outperformed Brown in the last two weeks while Miller and Flutie have each scored a 20 out of 30 in weeks two and three.
For his part, Carter Matt is reporting that Brown is dancing alongside Sharna Burgess to Aladdin’s “Friend Like Me.” Considering how this song has been performed before, it might end up hurting Brown, as both judges and fans will likely want something more original.
As far as Fields is concerned, the actress has chosen to dance to The Jungle Book’s “I Wanna Be Like You” with her partner Sasha Farber. This selection should bode well for Fields, especially considering the new Jungle Book film is getting ready to open in theaters.
The only contestants who appear safe include Jodie Sweetin, Paige VanZant, Wanya Morris, and Nyle DiMarco, each of whom has scored well in recent weeks. Of course, anything can change in the coming week, especially when it comes to Disney Night.
Fans can watch the celebrities perform to their favorite Disney tunes when Dancing with the Stars airs Monday night on ABC.
