Star Wars fans are theorizing over lead female character Jyn Erso and how she is connected to the Star Wars universe, as well as what role does actor Forest Whitaker play, and who is the mysterious black-robed figure? Darth Vader perhaps?
Earlier, The Inquisitr reported on how Star Wars: Rogue One fits into the Star Wars universe.

The Star Wars: Rogue One trailer opens with a scene featuring character Jyn Erso, played by Felicity Jones. She’s read her list of crimes including forgery of Imperial documents, possession of stolen property, aggravated assault, and resisting arrest. Already she sounds like a fun girl.
Next, we hear the voice of Mon Mothma, the leader of the alliance and the one that introduced plans to attack the Death Star in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.
“On your own from the age of 15, reckless, aggressive, and undisciplined,” Mon Mothma says.
“This is a rebellion isn’t it?” Jyn replies. “I rebel.”
Jyn is then told there is a mission for her. “A major weapons test is imminent. We need to know what it is and how to destroy it.”
In the final Rogue One trailer scene, there are many of the things we’ve all come to love about Star Wars including explosions, storm troopers, blasters, and Imperial Walkers. All the while, Forest Whitaker (the name of his character has yet to be released) sends out a haunting warning that seems to be directed at Jyn.
“What will you do when they catch you? What will you do if they break you? What if you continue to fight? What will you become?”
Earlier, Whitaker had teased fans with a statement on the Today show that Rogue One was going to be more “edgy” than the other Star Wars movies. This goes along with statements that Rogue One would be darker and grittier.

Movie Pilot speculates Jyn Erso could be Rey’s mother. The chronology adds up, they both have the same accent, and if you put pictures of Rey and Jyn side by side, they do kind of look alike.
Among other things that excited fans, especially Londoners, was the filming location of one of the scenes featured in the Rogue One trailer. According to Forbes, a scene from Star Wars: Rogue One was shot in the Canary Wharf tube station, a London Underground station. Although it’s not known why the big budget Star Wars franchise would use such an inexpensive set, fans seem to love it.

In spite of plenty of praise, not everyone is excited that Star Wars has yet another female lead. According to Junkee, there was some griping about both Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Star Wars: Rogue One having females in the lead role.
The aversion to a lead female role in Star Wars doesn’t seem to be the norm. But if you should find yourself among the perturbed, you only need to wait for the next Star Wars movie. According to a promise from Disney, there’s plenty more Star Wars to come and it’s doubtful they will all feature a female lead. In the meantime, for the rest of us that are gobbling up anything and everything Star Wars Disney has to throw at us, watch the amazing Star Wars: Rogue One trailer just one more time.
