Anne Hathaway Reveals Baby Name And It’s Adorable! [Video]
Anne Hathaway has revealed her new baby’s name: Jonathan Rosebanks Shulman! Hathaway gave birth in Los Angeles, California, early in the morning on Thursday, March 24, to a healthy child she shares with husband Adam Shulman.
According to People magazine, the child’s unusual middle name honors family members from both Anne and Adam’s families. The “rose” honors Anne’s grandmother, Roseline, while “banks” is derived from Shulman’s mother’s maiden name.

After the baby was born, a source revealed to E! News that thankfully Hathaway and the boy were “extremely healthy and is surrounded by friends and family in L.A.” The insider also added that “Anne and Adam are ecstatic to be parents.”
In a 2013 interview, Anne Hathaway shared that she was dying to become a mother, adding “I anticipate loving my children quite fiercely.”
Anne Hathaway and Adam Shulman met in 2008, became engaged in November, 2011, and were married in a September, 2012, wedding in Big Sur, California. Having a baby has been a dream come true for Hathaway, who revealed in a 2012 interview that she’s wanted kids since she was 16-years-old, adding that “I hope to join the ranks soon,” after getting married. “I really want to have a baby,” the Princess Diaries alum concluded.
It seems baby Jonathan will not be her last child, although Hathaway admits that she she would “like to have as many as I can afford, not just financially but in terms of time, because you want to make sure each one feels special.” Just a month after that interview, Anne elaborated that she “want[s] to have a family of a certain size,” and was considering adopting. Sharing that she planned to “start with one healthy kid,” Hathaway added that she would also “like to have a few naturally and adopt.”
Having a baby has been one of her life goals, which Anne explained in a 2012 interview. “I’ve had one goal in mind for the past 12 years, which is: get a movie, get a movie, get a movie. Now I might have to say: get a baby, get a baby, get a baby.”
Anne Hathaway talked about her growing baby bump back in January, 2016, when she shared an “out of character” bikini pic. Realizing that she was being photographed by other people, Anne quickly had someone snap the attractive photo, which she shared over Instagram. Anne explained in the caption that “just now while I was at the beach I noticed I was being photographed.”

While Hathaway seems to have planned to keep her pregnancy a private matter, she shared with fans that “if this kind of photo is going to be out in the world it should at least be an image that makes me happy (and be one that was taken with my consent. And with a filter. :)” Anne also shared with fans that she was “Wishing you love, light and blessings for the year ahead!”
Just a month later, Anne and Shulman attended the 88th Academy Awards, and Hathaway shared another baby bump photo along with an Oscar. Telling fans that it was her “[f]avorite Oscar day ever,” Anne wished everyone luck in the February 28 Instagram post.
Hathaway also celebrated her baby at a March 5 baby shower, where the mother-to-be was “showered with gifts and love at a baby celebration,” a source revealed to People magazine. At the party, Anne “She looked great,” while her guests “enjoyed lunch outside and everyone seemed to have fun.” Two gifts Anne received for the baby were a bassinet and clothes from Trico Field and Barneys.
