Could Kris Jenner’s Radio Silence On Rob’s Engagement Cost Her ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’?
Momager and Keeping Up with the Kardashians matriarch Kris Jenner has a multi-million dollar problem. And if she doesn’t solve it soon, her reality television empire might crumble.
One week ago, TMZ broke the news that Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna are engaged. The engagement came after a whirlwind two-month romance. Rob Kardashian popped the question with a reported 7-carat diamond ring. And while the couple is no doubt in a state of bliss at their upcoming nuptials, the Kardashian-Jenner clan is less than thrilled.
At least, they don’t seem to be. In a rare move for the social media savvy family, none of the Kardashian-Jenner women have mentioned Rob’s engagement in public.
It seems that the Kardashian-Jenner sisters aren’t ready to put Blac Chyna’s long-running feud with Kylie Jenner to bed. The feud began in 2014, when rumors swirled that Kylie Jenner and Tyga were dating, despite Kylie being underage.
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, even Kris Jenner became embroiled in the feud at one point. In August, 2015, rumors swirled that Tyga presented Kylie Jenner with a red Mercedes G-Wagon for her 18th birthday. Eagle-eyed fans noted that the G-Wagon used to belong to Blac Chyna, but had been repossessed by Tyga after their break up.Annoyed by the implication that her baby girl accepted Blac Chyna’s hand-me-downs, Kris Jenner revealed that the family collectively owns four G-Wagons.
After that, Kris Jenner seemed to bow out of the feud, preferring to let her daughters wage the war. And the war didn’t end until Blac Chyna and Rob Kardashian began dating.
Which is where things get complicated. After years of blasting Blac Chyna, the Kardashian-Jenner clan seemed reluctant to welcome her into the fold. In fact, Rob’s relationship with Blac Chyna has further strained his already bumpy relationship with his family. Khloe Kardashian famously kicked Rob out of the Calabasas mansion they shared after she found him cozied up with Blac Chyna. Rob has been absent from all but one family occasion since he started seeing Blac Chyna. Everybody seemed to put aside their differences to celebrate Rob’s birthday in March.
But it doesn’t look like the Kardashian-Jenner women will get their way this time. According to OK!, the Kardashian-Jenner women are furious that Rob is still seeing Blac Chyna. That fury became white-hot when Rob proposed. Apparently, the first family of reality television isn’t buying the relationship. An unidentified source claims that Rob’s family think the entire relationship is just a move to get back at them.
“It’s the worst betrayal ever, especially since Blac has badmouthed the family so many times. The family thinks Rob’s doing this to pi*s everyone off because he’s so angry.”
And Rob Kardashian certainly has reason to be angry with his famous family. While the Kris Jenner negotiated a multi-million dollar television contract for her daughters and their romantic partners, Rob Kardashian quietly disappeared from the spotlight. Romantic struggles and depression left Rob Kardashian a shadow of his former self. But the Kardashian-Jenner money machine didn’t seem to leave time or patience for his struggle.
The problem is people love Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna as a couple. Since the two started dating, Rob has lost a significant amount of weight and seems to be finally getting his diabetes under control. There’s little doubt about one thing: Rob Kardashian has been thriving since he started dating Blac Chyna.Which puts Kris Jenner in an awkward position. The Kardashian-Jenner sisters aren’t the television gold they once were. Season 11 of Keeping Up with the Kardashians was the lowest rated in the history of the show. And if the ratings keep slipping, NBCUniversal may re-think handing the famous family another multi-year, multi-million dollar contract. The golden couple could save the empire Kris Jenner built, but can the momager convince her daughters to put aside their hate in the name of business?
