The New Day are indeed one of the most dominant teams in the history of WWE, and they’re also one of the most popular. They are two-time WWE Tag Team Champions and have held the belts since August of 2015, but there are always challengers from all walks of life. Now, the Bullet Club Elite from New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) wants a piece of them and Big E, Xavier Woods, and Kofi Kingston are ready for them.
Ever since AJ Styles, Karl Anderson, and Doc Gallows departed NJPW, the Bullet Club has changed and added the word “Elite” to the end of their name. The three lead guys have come about and become Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks.
Back in February, Wrestling Inc. pointed out that an open challenge was issued by the Bullet Club Elite. Not only was it an open challenge, but they actually made a specific challenge to the members of The New Day.

It’s been seen on “UpUpDownDown” before that Kenny Omega and Xavier Woods are very good friends, and have been for years. Sure, this may have been a friendly little back-and-forth, but it’s something that fans take quite seriously and hope for.
There have been other jabs here and there from the Bullet Club Elite made at The New Day, and it’s more than likely just friendly fire. Still, they’re taken as serious by the fans and the hopes go up that something could happen between them.
Now, The New Day have decided to respond to the Bullet Club Elite and have made a statement of their own.
Delzinski of 2K Sports caught up with The New Day during WrestleMania 32 weekend, and he just so happened to have on a Bullet Club T-shirt. Once the members of The New Day noticed the shirt, they actually asked him to cover it up.
They were asked if there is bad blood between the two teams, and Xavier Woods stepped up to say he should “search the internet, and ask us a question that matters.”
Big E then spoke up and threw some fighting words out there.
“We’re not just the best tag team, but the best trio! Talking about some Young Bucks. Keep my mouth away from your stuff! Best trio, anywhere, including Japan. Yeah, I said it! It’s booty.”
The interviewer offered to trade his Bullet Club shirt for one of The New Day, but the team refused his offer. Big E said he was a “turncoat” and that he failed the test of The New Day.
While an inter-promotional match could happen, it is unlikely anytime soon. NJPW has a working relationship with Ring of Honor where they do shows together and even participate in talent exchanges from time to time.
Yes, a feud between The New Day and the Bullet Club Elite would be ideal and fantastic for wrestling fans everywhere, but it just isn’t feasible at this time.
Maybe one day this is a feud that can happen within the confines of WWE if Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks sign with the promotion. Other than that, there is only hope and time that needs to go by to see if it will come together.
Unless the Young Bucks and Kenny Omega from the Bullet Club Elite end up signing with WWE, then it’s hard to think this feud will ever happen. NJPW’s working relationship with Ring of Honor is kind of standing in the way of that. Still, The New Day are not afraid to let it be known that they are the best team and trio in all of wrestling, and they won’t back down from anyone.
