Justin Bieber Meets And Inspires Special Teen With Cystic Fibrosis, See The Video
Last month, Justin Bieber was forced to cancel his Purpose World Tour meet and greets, revealing they made him feel “drained and unhappy” to the “point of depression.”
However, the superstar is still meeting fans with special needs on his current tour as part of his ongoing work with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, just as he has been since the start of his career.
Before his Wednesday show in Kansas City, Missouri, Justin reportedly met Sarina Costanzo, a 14-year-old teenager in Missouri living with cystic fibrosis, who had a “wish” booked with the star before his meet and greet cancellations. In fact, friends have been campaigning on her behalf since 2015.
The Biebs reportedly told Make-A-Wish that since he had already committed to meeting Sarina before his M&G cancellations, he would still do so.

A look at Sarina’s Twitter account reveals longstanding declarations of love for Justin Bieber, even before her encounter with the “Sorry” singer.

Now, messages of gratitude and pictures of the Biebs and a beaming Sarina adorn her Twitter page.

Fox 4’s Katie Banks reveals Justin met Costanzo, her family, and one of her pals backstage at Kansas City’s Sprint Center before his show.

“I said, ‘Can we take another picture?’ And he was like, ‘Well yeah!'” the teen recalls. “And he took my phone and was like, ‘Selfie!'”
Sarina was also given free concert swag, 30 minutes with the pop icon of her dreams, and more.
“I was just so nervous!” She confessed to Banks. “I was shaking so much. I just couldn’t believe that my role model is right in front of me!”
Sarina said the Biebs gave her a huge bug after he introduced himself to her family and friend.
“I cried on his shoulder!” she said. “[A]nd he rocked me back and forth, and he was like, ‘Aww, don’t cry!’ because I was, like, balling, and it was really amazing.”

Sarina’s mother, Loura Miller, offered her take on her daughter’s memorable day. “She was hugging him so tightly, and he never pulled away. He just let her hug him until she was done, and it was a good five minutes.”
She continued, “Even though he doesn’t know her, he probably forgot those five minutes after we walked out of the room, but the impact it has on her will last forever.”
And that was when Justin kissed the top of Sarina’s head. “I was like, ‘Oh my god! He just kissed me,'” she recalls.
She also explained why the singer is her idol. “Having CF [cystic fibrosis], it’s really hard to stay motivated to keep trying, and all the medicines I have to take — it’s really hard,” Sarina adds. “[Bieber], his songs, just inspire me to just never give up on anything.”
Part of the regime Costanzo endures with the disease is taking more than 50 pills a day and having to do four 30-minute breathing treatments a day. Looking at the breathless happiness tweeted and retweeted by Sarina after just a half-hour get-together with the star, it’s clear something of value takes place for the youngsters Justin Bieber meets with Make-A-Wish.

For those unaware of Bieber’s history with the Make-A-Wish foundation, the singer has worked with the charity since 2009. Back in July 2014, the Canadian superstar was awarded the Champ of Charity award at the Young Hollywood Awards in acknowledgement of having the highest “wish” count of any recording artist working with the Foundation. Bieber has carried out over 260 “wishes” and counting.
From Sarina’s account of her “wish” day with the Biebs, it sounds like her meet and greet experience is something she’ll never forget. Watch a video of the pair together below.
