WWE Rumors: Bray Wyatt Reveals Original ‘WrestleMania 32’ Plans For Brock Lesnar, Rips WWE’s Usage Of The Wyatt Family
Bray Wyatt and the rest of The Wyatt Family didn’t have a match on the WrestleMania 32 card. Not a single one was really scheduled to be there, but then they ended up being squashed by John Cena and The Rock. Now, Wyatt has revealed what the original plans were for him at the big pay-per-view, and he also says what he thinks about how WWE has treated him and his brothers.
It’s hard to believe that Bray Wyatt didn’t have a match on the biggest PPV of the year, and that’s even though he was recovering from a back injury. The thing is, the feud with him and Brock Lesnar had started back around the Royal Rumble, but then it was dropped.
It appears as if the program really did end due to his back injury suffered in February that caused him to miss about two weeks worth of action. Wyatt was recently a guest on The Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast, and spoke about what might have been.“Me and Brock Lesnar are going to meet. And this is the only way I can put this, me and Brock Lesnar will meet down the line. It will mean something and I’m going to give him my soul and my body, and, hopefully, he doesn’t kill me, but if he does, then, so be it. That’s as much as I can give there. I’ve been beaten up quite a bit this past year. We all have. It [has] been a rough year as far as the curse of the injury, but I’m still ticking, barely, but I’m still here. I’m still alive.”
WWE may look at that feud as something they really want to continue though because fans were ecstatic about it possibly happening at Roadblock. Then, the WWE Network live special saw Luke Harper added to the match, and Wyatt never tagged in once.
At the time, Wyatt was dealing with the back injury that sidelined him for a couple of weeks. There was no way he could have participated in the match and faced off with Brock Lesnar. He did heal up in time though, to appear at WrestleMania 32 and be dominated by Cena and The Rock.
As for the rest of The Wyatt Family, they’ve been almost abused by WWE over the course of the last month and a half.Luke Harper was destroyed by Lesnar at Roadblock then suffered an injury and is out for a few months. None had a scheduled match at WrestleMania 32, but Erick Rowan ended up in a match against The Rock and lost in record fashion. Braun Strowman was just there.
“Stone Cold” Steve Austin said about a month before WrestleMania 32 that the way the Wyatts were booked at WrestleMania was a “travesty.” During an episode of The Steve Austin Show, Austin went on a rant about how the Wyatts were being used horribly and Bray was suffering for it due to being the leader of the stable.
On The Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast, Bray Wyatt was also asked about fans not thinking that WWE is using The Wyatt Family in the right way. Not only did he agree with that fact about when they broke on the scene and WWE’s main roster from NXT, but he also thinks it is still the case now.
“I don’t think, when we set out and finally got the call up, I don’t know if they really understood what they had. Like, we knew the NXT crowd had responded so well to us and they kind of like attached themselves to us and when we came up here we, never in a million years, thought it was going to explode the way it did. And it did. It exploded. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And it was just that kind of thing, the right place at the right time. And we were so different, man. We were so different that I don’t think the company knew even how to use us. ‘What are these things?’ Like, we were so different and in the promos [and] so different in the way we looked and how we moved. We were big and we would fly and do all this crazy stuff. Like, I don’t think anyone expected us to be so complete. And they still don’t know how to use what we are.”
Those are some strong words from Bray Wyatt, and he may be right. There hasn’t been a stable like The Wyatt Family or one that has been that strong since The Ministry led by The Undertaker during the Attitude Era.
All four members are dark, brooding, off the wall, and very talented. The weakest link (oddly enough) is Braun Strowman, but he’s learning from a few of the best wrestlers in WWE and he can only get better.
The Wyatt Family has been an absolutely dominant force in WWE at times, but then there are times that they’ve disappeared out of sight completely. Bray Wyatt is still not entirely sure that the company knows how to use them, but with a feud against Brock Lesnar on the horizon and SummerSlam in four months, things could blow up for all the Wyatts.[Image via WWE]
