Jordan Spieth, Girlfriend Annie Verret: Will They Go The Distance?

Jordan Spieth and his girlfriend, Annie Verret, have been together a long time, which is quite the feat considering Spieth’s celebrity status just seems to keep climbing both on and off the golf course. Without even a hint of an engagement, however, one has to wonder if they will go the distance after all.

Anyone watching the Masters Golf Tournament in Augusta, Georgia, last year remembers well the sweet embrace and kiss Spieth and his girlfriend shared after he won the revered title. As the 2016 Masters tournament begins this week, fans are again hoping to get a glimpse of the PGA champion’s girlfriend standing in the gallery supporting her guy.

Few dispute that Spieth and Verret rank extremely high in the cute couple category.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, the number two golfer in the world and his girlfriend, Annie Verret, began their relationship as high school sweethearts.

Some media outlets, including Sports World News, have questioned whether the wealthy golfer should be on the prowl or start to settle down with Verret.

Annie Verret and Spieth began their courtship in high school when she was at the all-girls Ursuline Academy in Dallas, Texas, and he was at the all-boys Jesuit College Preparatory School nearby, according to Augusta.

After high school, Jordan and Annie were separated to attend different colleges. Spieth attended the University of Texas, where he led the team in securing three events his freshman year, while Verret went to Texas Tech. Despite the separation, the romance between the two never wavered. If anything, it became stronger.

During his college career, Spieth led his team in winning the NCAA title during his sophomore year. While playing for the university, he earned All-American honors, All-Big 12 Team, Big 12 Freshman of the Year, and Player of the Year.

As SWN points out, success and money can be accompanied with many temptations, but so far, Spieth and Verret have continued to love and support each other despite fame and glory.

Some argue that Spieth is young and rich and could possibly land anyone. On the other hand, Verret has been with Spieth through every aspect of his career, and he knows he can trust her loyalty and her motives.

And as previously reported by the Inquisitr, Annie Verret is quite the catch herself. She attended business school at Texas Tech, earned a 4.0 GPA, and appeared on both the dean’s list and President’s Honor Roll.

Verret currently works as an event coordinator at The First Tee of Greater Dallas, which helps underprivileged kids find a passion for the game of golf, and seems to lead a rather simple life with her beau despite Jordan’s astronomical rise to fame

The couple are very private about their relationship. Annie Verret keeps both her Twitter and Instagram accounts private. While Jordan is more active on social media, it is rare that he features posts about his love life with Verret.

Both seem to be mature. In fact, Jordan is applauded for his maturity. In a column for the Washington Post, Thomas Boswell, marveled at Jordan Spieth and the level head he brings to the sporting arena.

“In normal human development, 21-year-olds are only supposed to be partially formed, ill-suited to seeing all the sides of complicated issues, and at times they’re just jerks. Years later, that all gets sorted out, and we meet the person they become. Spieth has shattered that view. Many say he’s just what U.S. golf needs.”

As the world watches Spieth defend his title at Augusta, many will be watching for glimpses of his devoted girlfriend, Annie Verret.
